Here is my Big Bad Bow mod:

Posted Image

After removing the rod that pushes the missile, I stuck a crayola barrel down the launching tube. Then I put some PVC over the crayola that stuck out, giving it better accuracy. I then cut of the Bow frame at the front, and attached a PVC stock to the back.

Questions? Concerns? Rude comments? Suggestions?

This mod has been done tons of times. If you don't have a mod that is new just add it to the modification/paintjob thread. It's that easy.

It's pretty cool, but it looks like the stock is going to fall off. And yes, this has been done before... Try making a write-up for it.

I'm fucking tired of people discrediting someones work because there isn't a write up. He's just showing us his BBB, there's no write up needed for that. Thats what he takes into war, thats what he feels comfortable with. He should have no reason to document every single waking hour hes spent working on his guns. All ranting aside, it looks very nice and comfy.

I'll bet the ranges suck, no offence, it's just that crayolas are not the way to go. Shoce some e-taped brass up the stock barrel and you can easily get 60 or 70 feet. Put in a better spring and you could break 100.

Wouldn't it be insanely long with the stock and the gun being extended?

It shouldn't be too long. Some people have stocks AND super long barrels on their guns, making them even longer. It's cool except the stock looks crooked. I think all the n00bs think that write-ups are a way to get a good reputation, but it isn't unless you have something unique and useful with detailed instructions and pictures.

Well then he probably could have put this in the modification pictures thread because most of this has been done before.

my two, coppers, we cant expect people to know everything that has come before, all that is required is here.

As long as he follows that there shouldnt be any issues. It is not required to post it in the mod/paintjob topic,

that topic is a history book, this is a open forum for ideas to be discussed, questions raised, and knowlege

shared, we should all feel priveleged to be part of this, so why have any conflict?

edit: Btw nice job, mabey add another gun under the belly.

A write-up is when you show the steps on how to do the modification.

Like Hammer said, its whatever works for you. I think if you add a PVC coupler on there with a PVC and CPVC barrel combination you'll get better ranges. Good work overall though.

I'm just curious why pictures like these can't simply be put in the mod pictures thread. We've seen bbb's millions of times before, unless you have some new information or a writeup, why is this thread here?

What the hell are you saying? If you are asking if this is a BBB, you must not have read the title and the first post.

Nice paintjob.
KMILNZE is asking about the extra bow pieces that come with the BBB, and no they do not increase performance so they are unnecesary. They just get in the way, so pretty much everyone doesn't use them.
Don't be so hard on him, the only mistake he made was replace c with x.

I don't like the Paintjob. I detest black nerf guns, unless it's matte black, but that's just me. It is clean though.

Looks nice. Sand down the hotglue in the joints, then give them another coat, and it'll make the PVC parts look even smoother.

I also like the rifle shell above the barrel in your first picture, but that's just something I noticed.

That shell is too small for a rifle. It could be for a pistol, maybe in the .30 cal range?

Anyway, you should sand and fill the hole where the foregrip was, using caulk, and then paint that as well. It will make it more comfortable to hold.

Thanks for the idea. And by the way, that is an .222 cal rifle shell that I have cut in half.

Thanks for the idea. And by the way, that is an .222 cal rifle shell that I have cut in half.

If you take my advice, sand the shell first, making sure it's flat. Then, you can fill it with hot glue or caulk and flip it over onto a sheet of waxed paper. When the glue/caulk dries/sets, you can slowly peel it off the paper. This will make a visually appealing, perfectly flat surface.

I usually don't count .22 cartridges, even .22 LRs as rifle rounds because they are also used in pistols and are so miniscule. They are accurate, though. However, I still don't see how you're using half a shell in a modification.
