What? Huh? How? You said you sawed the liquid thing off then pumped it really fast? Not possible the air would come out the hole of the liquid thing before the black thing exploded.

Umm... not to be mean or anything, but what is the point of telling us that? I mean, most people would just leave that on.

I think Sni.per just sawed it off above the rubber membrane...and then it popped. It would work, in theory. But it's not a good idea, as shown by this.

EDIT - Sorry, I forgot to add a period the first time and it censored your name.

I would leave the tube on to tell if the gun is pumped. And even if you didn't, why bother posting about it without thinking of a way to solve the problem, like simply draining the liquid, popping the membrane with a knife, and using it with the tube as a secondary air tank, although cxwq has proven this to be an ineffective way to increase range (but it will avoid any mistakes like this one). Also, you should correct your grammar so we can actually read what you wrote and post about the information.

Ok, let me get this straight. You pumped it very quickly, a balloon popped, and you couldn't hear for three minutes? So, where'd you get the balloon from? When I opened up my AT2K I didn't see a balloon.

Oui. He cut off the Goo Tube. Under that is a black membrane, which he called a balloon. Pump it up too much without goo on top and it'll pop. He couldn't hear for three minutes.

That's it. That's all he wanted to tell us. Personally... if he went deaf, then I'd be worried. But otherwise... Iono.

Solution: Fill the top of the black membrane with hot glue. No more balloon, not more popping. Voila.

And yes -- I don't remember who it was -- but a lot of people do cut off the goo tube to conserve space. I made an arm-mounted 2k once and having it stick out all over the place just wasn't practical. So I got rid of it. I keep track of pumps by counting. ; o)

There is a rubber disk INSIDE of the airtech 2000 when you take the screws out of the orange peice just before the pump. When you pump the gun up, the air pressure in the gun forces this little rubber disk to expand and push the orange gel up in the tube to tell you how full it is. Most people take the orange gel and the rubber thing out to allow more air. I have seen that done along with just taking the clean plastic tube off the gun and plugging it up with hotglue and epoxy. I find that plugging the hole up gives you quicker pumping time and somewhat higher pressure.

Too bad you can't do any thing about the asshole=loser thing. The "loser=loser" thing is a filter that changes asshole to loser. That is so because there is no such thing as a asshole in Nerf because Nerf guns aren't accurate enough and don't have the range to be a "asshole" rifle.

asshole-I sawed off a friend's at2k for him, but figured I should plug the liquitron tube before I let him pump it up. Either way, now you know.

Oro?-You're right, but only until you get to the newer rifle-sized guns out there. The titan, for example.

Does anyone know what's in the liquitron goo? I want to prank a friend, but I won't trick him into drinking it unless I know it's not poisonous. :)

The rubber disk will blow if you get rid of the goo gauge. That's it.

Here's a question: If you removed the membrane as well as the Goo Tube, could you hook up a different pump to the hole?

I'm sure it's possible, but you'd have to do some work on the rest of the gun.

Posted Image

If you pumped in from the goo tube hole, it would pump it both ways - to the stock pump, and to the air tank. You'd have to close off the tubing leading to the stock pump.

EDIT -- 50th post, and I haven't contributed anything important. I need to fucking slow down.

Also, don't worry about your posts. If all of mine were as helpful as yours was, I'd be perfectly happy.

Shouldn't matter. I think the check valve for the pump is on the end of the shaft, so way before the goo tube hole. As long as the pump you are adding has a check valve also it should still work. This is just based on my observations, though, I could be wrong.

*edit: actually, no, i can't be. The liquitron holds pressure when the gun is pumped, so it MUST be upstream of the check valve, whether that valve is in the liquitron housing, or in the pump. Either way, that would work.*
