I went through my old nerf guns and found some comlink 2s. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get the triangular head screws out. I can't find a screw driver like that.

Did you search? Use the modification directory.

Someone mentioned grinding a screwdriver down with a belt sander to make it fit. I imagine you could also use a small flathead screwdriver and just fit it along one side of the triangle, if you know what I mean.

Melt the tip of a bic pen and shove it in the hole. Let it dry. Twist.

Can you describe this better? I have an Electric Eel and it has the same type. With my Commlink, I had to drill though the whole thing so now it looks really stupid. The ink tip part or the pen casing part or what?

If you want permanent Phillips screws or don't want to do that for every screw, you can also just melt a little bit into the triangle and then stick a screwdriver in it as a mold. When it dries, you'll have Phillips head screws. You could also do it with a standard screwdriver... or pretty much anything, for that matter.

For the cheap or impatient people, I have a bit solution I picked up from GameCube modding. Take a bic pen and remove the ink and tip. Heat up the back end until it is slightly soft. Jam that sucker onto the screw, and the soft plastic will mold to shape. Let the pen stay there until it cools, and you've just made yourself a custom screwdriver. Beats the hell out of drilling them out (I know from those wacky walkie-talkie guns).

Naturally that only works if the screw ports are large enough for your pen, but by Allah it works!

Doesn't the National Geographic Jet-Hawk "Strato Launcher" also have triangular screws?

Oh, but on that, does the melted Bic-pen still work? Also, I read some reviews from people who used it for it's intended purpose, and they said that the tank will eventually start to leak. Is that true? (Sorry about this not being on topic.)

There is a better way.

Find a flathead screwdriver that is the size of one side of the triangle. Insert and twist. That's what I do :)

Yes you could do it, not sure if a pen would fit though.
It may form leaks, but I've used three of these things, as long as you don't overpump it, its fine. THere may be a small leak (there's one in my latest one) but the pressure and volume are so high you almost don't notice it. Also, don't bother plugging the overpressure valve, you already have enough air, and it can cause you to break the airtank.
