How exactly does the magazine advancing mechanism work on the magstrike? Since the mag goes up as it's fired there must be something pushing it. Im assuming its a geared wheel or something similar. It seems that someone could make an automated breach system that opens and closes the breach timed with the air bursts. Then you could add a high compacity hopper on top, increasing the darts held and getting rid of the magazines.
How feasable is this? Could someone post or link some internal picks of the advancing mechanism with some dimentions?

Not Very.

I'm not very good at explaining things, but I know how it works, and that isn't feasible at all.

It's a distinct possibility. But seriously, that's all you could come up with? You are a terrible Troll.

If you really want to do this then you'll need a magstrike, tell us if it works(that is if a concept thread is ever fulfilled).

The magstrike is very wasteful of air, which means it has an inefficient method of feeding the mag. This design is engineered by Hasbro to be somewhat efficient (more so than a homemade), but a homemade would be extremely wasteful of air. CaptainSlug had a few designs, but abandoned them due to complexity.

To be honest I was thinking of doing this.
However, the amount of air wasted really pisses me off so I am not sure if I am going to build it or not.
I had been thinking of building a RF100 with the appropriate if not new breech system for some time now.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

I heard RF100. Are you dredging up my 100 round gattling gun? Or something else. I was actually going to use the rotation, not the push piston to do it because the push pistion doesn't go far enough.

It goes far enough if you use short shots, or, if you made the piston go further. How is that project going anyways? About the magstrike idea, If you attached a breech system directly up to the piston, which I assume you would do, it would be very hard to time and the extra friction coming from moving the breech would effect the piston's movement.

The piston has to move farther than a darts lenghth. I canceled the RF100, but it was working, in theory.
I don't know about anyone else.

Compacity
- noun (fake)
1. An improper conjunction of compassion and capacity. i.e. the capacity of someone's compassion
2. A shitty spelling of capacity

Feasibility? None.
Likely hood that you've ever opened your magstrike or seen the internals? Very low.

The piston in the magstrike only has a 1 inch stroke length. And like all of the other automatics it has a linear gear on the clip/turret that is advanced by a tooth on the piston.
Surprisingly the mechanism is fairly efficient pneumatically, but you're not going to be able to adapt it to do anything beyond what it already does.
Acheiving a longer stroke length would require that you make an air cylinder from scratch. And such a long stroke length wouldn't be ideal for a functioning automatic since there wouldn't be enough time between shots for the darts to load by gravity.

In other words your concept thread sucks.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Just like 99% of all concept threads.

Now I wasn't sure if you had or hadn't replaced the barrel, but I thought that you had. So I guess I'll give this myth a PLAUSIBLE.
