The closest thing that would come to that is CaptainSlug's ABP. You should check it out. Here you go.

Why don't you try to come up with your own basic idea, and we can help you refine it?

We can't just design the gun for you, as semi-automatic weapons would require air and certain mechanics. Definetely check out CS's ABP.

A few thoughts…

1. If someone had ideas for this and could build one, they would have…as it’s somewhat of a holy grail of Nerf homemades.

2. If you have to ask, you’re probably not up to it (as paging through the link above may or may not tell you).

3. At the very least, read through Six-five-two’s Homemades directory. It’s an excellent resource for getting an idea for what’s been done (and by extension, what’s currently possible.) If you really want to build, read through older pages in the Homemades forum. There’s a lot of info in there to show you what can be done.

4. If you have specific questions, search the forum. There's a pinned topic on how to do that effectively.

5. After reading through what’s been done, try building something. If you get stuck, come back and post about what you’ve done. We’re not big on spoon-feeding ideas, but are happy to help you through something that you have in process. Oftentimes, a new innovation is based off of older work. Try an older gun and experiment with it if you want to make that semi-auto.

I would study the function of blowback action used in pistols, and gas operation used in rifles. That should give you ideas.

I'm going to pull out this line: "Speculation is a waste of time. Just wait and see what comes of this. If anything." - Captain Slug.
Captain Slug, I couldn't have said it better.

Here's an idea I had.

Take a 19/32 brass tube.
Drill a line of holes along one side roughly 1'' apart.
Attach an air tank on each hole.
Take a 9/16 brass tube and plug one end.
Drill hole 1'' from plugged end in 9/16.
Put it inside the 19/32 tube.
Load dart.

As you pull the 9/16 tube out, it will let out a burst of compressed air once the hole in the 9/16 meets up with one in the 19/32.

Another way would be to do this with holes on both sides of the 19/32 with an air tank on one side and a barrel on the other. You would drill two holes opposite each-other in the 9/16 and plug the on both sides of the hole. This would work similar to a hornet, but could be made to hold over 40 shots if made with a 3 ft length.

Well I'm working on something, I call it the Snake SRW (Slow-Reloading-Weapon) because it has partly an elastic barrel that you can bend in many ways and positions like a snake. It has a pump only for a single pump to fire and I tried to put clips in but i couldn't find any way possible.

Once I'm done with the actual gun I'll post real life pictures

I have an idea for a semi auto gun. It would be all homemade and you would have to know how to tap brass pieces into pvc. So anyways hear it is...........

Fill the big air chamber with as much air as you want. Then open the ball valve and then close it. That will pressurize the small tank. Then release the solenoid. Repeat.

Any questions?

I'm pretty sure the compressed air inside your "snake" part will either a. Reduce/remove the ability for it to bend around in different directions. Or b. Burst from too much air pressure because, most likely, the bendy stuff will not be made to handle high pressures like that.

It Works but As you bend it the compressed air becomes weaker but anyway it can still go at a good range, since I've tested it.

How do you reload?

This is my first homemade, it's nothing fancy I just want to get the hang of making homemades, to answer your question you stick a bullet in the copper barrel, I forgot to add at the part where the copper goes to the other part there's metal grid wire to keep the bullet in place and still letting air go through.

I made a somewhat reliable semi-auto system back in 2004. As far as I've seen, this is still the only homemade semi-auto system around. There's a few threads about it here, but I don't particularly feel like finding them because they're buried. Just visit my profile and search through my posts if you want to find the posts. There are some images of it here: http://www.sscentral...ages/semiauto2/

The lever action both opens the valve, removes the old shell, and advances the new shell (by gravity). I tried to simplify everything as much as I could. I think this was the best use for leftover parts I have ever had (though a close second is a homemade water gun I made a while back too). The problem is, the reliance on gravity to move the new shell in isn't completely reliable. I also need to cut some angles on some of the plastic to prevent jams. This was a great test however that exceeded my expectations. The only reason this hasn't been seen much is that I am not very active here.

I considered a few upgrades to it, but I never got around to it. I'm more in favor of a complete rebuild.

A lot of things some people have posted as semi-auto are actually single action, that is, only one action is required between shots. That is good, but it is not semi-auto.

Right now I'm working on a single action Nerf gun with a valve based upon the basic valve design Dr. Nerf and others used. While Dr. Nerf was not the first to think of this valve, he was the first to construct it well. However, I found his construction methods to be far too complicated and the use of O-rings unreliable. I already have made a method of construction that is considerably cheaper, easier to construct, and much more reliable. You might see something about this posted in a week to a month. This design I'll try to leave open to upgrades.

I'm Also working on this, I haven't gotten all the engineering for it but, since this doesn't have any gunpowder the only substitute I can rely on is electricity (batteries) ;)

Don't take this the wrong way...but knock it off with Paint dEffeminatetions of guns that have absolutely no specifics on how they would work...if at all.

We don't care about what a gun might look like. We care about how it works. Build it. Then show us.

Uhhh, YOU don't close the thread. Thae ADMIN closes the thread if they feel it's necissary. I don't think they'll close the thread either, I think they'll BAN YOU. Listen to the rules already for crying out loud. Oh and read the front page headline brought to you by Piney. NO CONCEPTS AND IDEAS UNLESS YOU HAVE SPECIFICS ON HOW THEY WORK! Thank you, and have a nice day! :)
