In TIG's mod, he used "acrylic sheeting". shown below

So, once I got the magazine open I marked 1-3/4" from the (directional arrow) front of the magazine. This is the maximum length of a Stefan I would be using. After that, I cut a straight strip of 4mm Acrylic sheet to 4mm wide - a rectangualar prism essentially. I superglued this strip next to the line, but made sure it was absolutely parrallel with the magazine walls.

The next thing I did was reinforce the magazine's follower with two layers of acrylic and then cut a 4.5mm groove into the side of the follower. I cut the grooves in the follower slightly bigger than the dimensions of the acrylic so it wouldn't jam in the acrylic insert if it tilted. I did these things to both sides of the magazine pieces.

This is harder to explain now that I'm getting tired, but this picture should wrap it up:

This modification prevents the darts from sliding back in the magazine as the bolt moves, thus letting them flip in the magazine. This also makes the darts more stable while in the magazine.

With the Acrylic sheeting, TIG used tanish color right? When I went to my local Lowe's, they only had cear Acrylic sheeting. And there was Lexen(I forgot the name) sheeting. So can someone tell me what to use to make my 12 shot clip stefen compatibale? Thanks.

Polycarbonate (Lexan is the GE brand of polycarbonate) will be much easier to cut than acrylic and will be just as easy to adhere to the magazine halves.

I also have a question about this mod. If I did an Angel Brass Breech do I need to do this to my clips to make it stefan compatible?

Actually, I'm not sure. You would think it would push the darts backwards. But since your using brass, I'm not sure.

EDIT: Ok, thanks CS. Your the best at plastics man.

It would definitely help, so the darts don't move around, if they are under the 3" length. Otherwise breech movement might move the darts around, and cause some jamming.

This isn't completely neccesary(sp). If you put your darts all the way back you should have no jamming problems.

You don't have to use plastic sheeting. Forsaken_Angel used 1/8" brass tubing, if I remember correctly.

I think it helps to do this with short stefans and an Angel breech, just because short setfans will jam if they flip like in the stock breech. Of course, my 2 1/4" stefans have never flipped.

For maximum efficiency?

1. Pump up. Count how many pumps.

2. Keep going until you hear a loud "bang".

3. Subtract one pump from the total. Rebuild your air bladder.

There you go.

Scouring knives don't work very reliably and are meant for use with acrylic. Polycarbonate cuts easier with other tools.

This isn't completely neccesary(sp). If you put your darts all the way back you should have no jamming problems.

If you're using the stock configuration of the gun, sure. But with the FA breech it only opens over the forward two thirds of the magazine.

You don't have to use plastic sheeting. Forsaken_Angel used 1/8" brass tubing, if I remember correctly.

Nope. In the second instruction video he shows that modifying the magazine in this way is needed for reliability with the breech design.

This magazine mod definetely helps though. I still have a 1/2" Stefan that got pushed behing the bolt in my Longshot. I'd get it, but I don't want to take out a ton of screws just to remove one Stefan.

If it's acrylic then the only tools you can use are a scrollsaw, bandsaw, or table saw.

Damnit. I bought the acrylic instead because of money. It's $2 fpr a 8X10 sheet of Acylic and $5 for a 8X10 of Lexan.

But you can cut Lexan with anything, right? I'll have to grab some of this, I have a different longshot mod that I can't get working because of the mags, and this will help it.
