EDIT: Anyway, is there going to be a war in NJ soon before this, I'd like to get to at least ONE other war before I go into Apoc. I thought Hershfest was happening 2 weeks before Apoc, but I haven't seen any plans yet.

As long as you're mature enough to handle the war, you can come. There's no age limit, we had 12 year olds playing with us at DCNO. They were mature, so nobody had a problem with it.

I just want to suggest one thing, and maybe it can help you guys out a little. I know chris has already extended the invitation to paul and matt, but we want to extend it to all the LCM. Since deal is an option, let's take a walk through the place after the war on sat. If you hate it, you at least know we're your not gonna hold this thing, and if you like the place you can benefit from our successes, failures, and obscenely mild (or is that the other way around?) aspirations.

Just to clarify, I am the only decision-maker here, I speak for the entire LCM, and anyone who refutes this will not be invited to Apoc 2007. That includes fellow members of the LCM.

I'm tired of hearing about how I hi-jacked this event - I didn't. Kuhl and Shindig were aware of certain things that I wasn't, and I thought that all options other than DEAL had been ruled out. You guys do a great job of making me feel like the bad guy but lets move on and get our shit in check.

...I think we have a few options here.

1) Is to make Apoc invitational.

2) Is to format this whole event prior to August 4. That means we would do what the Horsemen have done with DEAL, and make rosters and round outlines.

I hate to say it, but 50+ people? I mean, with Deal, everyone is going to show(for the most part, barring death, serious injury, etc.), but here with 50 people we'll for sure need to make readjustments and such throughout the day because of this and that and it just wouldn't work in my mind.

Now is it not possible to have a 25 on 25 round or any kind of other games that could involve all players instead of breaking off into teams. I have no big war experience so I don't know how these would break down but it would suck to travel all that way only to Nerf with like a third of the people there.

Evil my vote would be to make it invitational. If you can remember one of the last wars we were at together had like 30 and it was hectic and took forever to start and finish a round. I can't even begin to imagine how this will work with 50+ people.

Everything is going to be discussed and worked out beforehand.

We will most likely breakup into 2, maybe 3 battles, depending on turnout.
These battles will probably swap players during the day, as angel mentioned, so that everyone isn't only nerfing the same guys all day.

It is my(not necessarily the LCM's as a whole) hope after walking around Deal this Saturday, that we will be able to find at least one field to attempt a large scale, 50-man war.

Again, the LCM is gonna work all of the details out some time after the Invite War at Deal this weekend, so just be a little patient.

Invitation only would certainly make me feel special, I don't know everybody else. Rest assured though, I can't remember having a strong dislike for anyone in particular (except for that Rambo guy ) so I'll be fighting to make sure everyone who wants to come to this history-making war gets an invite if it comes to it.

We'll get together over the weekend sometime (oh yeah, Deal is tomorrow) and let you clowns know whats going.

I dislike the idea of having Apoc as an invitational. It just seems silly to me. We have the potential to have one of the largest community events ever, and now there is talk of stopping that by making it an invitational? We can buy a bull horn if we have to, but I'd rather not see people left out.

The only reason i suggested the invitational is because of the amount of time we lose organizing. If you guys feel you can control it then cool. But it has happened before and we lost a lot of time organizing. But i do feel that kuhl prob has the right idea about splitting it up.

You guys are in charge tho so i am going to shut up. Hope to see you guys tomorrow for deal.

I say plan it out with a roster. If we have the ability to have the largest nerf war in history, then by God let's have it. Plan the roster, have it so teams rotate and we fight diffirent players, keep it organized, and we'll be fine with 50+ people.

EDIT: Oh, and Shindig, sorry for sounding like I'm speaking for the LCM. I'm not. I just said what I believe is the norm after DCNO, watching countless Nerf videos, and watching how the community acts as a whole. If I'm wrong, sorry and please correct me.

The suggestion box has been closed unless you're Hersh, who can be teleconferenced into the diner we'll be planning this at.
We are not the Horsemen. They have planned Deal wars down to when people get to take a piss, and that works great for them, but that is not feasible for Apoc. How can we make rosters when people tell us they're bringing between 8 and 20 people? Having no idea about how 1337 kids are also presents quite an issue in making teams ahead of time.

What we could do is set a date for closing the roster that might give us two weeks or so to plan out the entire event? Following a survey of DEAL I think we'll have all we need to know. If we close the roster with the definites only - it could afford us a chance to outline the day.

The only problem with this is that we won't be totally sure of some people's skill level but at the same time I don't think this should really be an issue. We're aware of most of our abilities so we could probably make rough but even teams.

I also think we have a few options here like breaking up into 12 vs 12 on one field, and 12 vs 12 on another field that would be close by. We could do a 25 vs 25 I would think, but we'll wait until tomorrow is over and brainstorm.

Mantis is completely right. You can't run Apoc like deal. We keep deal to a certain size for that reason, but that's just not what apoc is about. That said, chris and I had a few ideas that might help you guys accommodate 50+ (you may have thought of them already yourselves), but we'll lay it all out for you after deal on sat. I think until then Matt is right. Concentrate on the war at hand, and take what you see at the park on sat before you make any decisions.

Anyways, time to prepare for tomorrow. See you fuckers on the other side.

The directions for Deal on the first post are for people relatively North of Deal, I'm assuming. Mapquest won't find the Deal Park written on the first post, so does anyone have directions for us southerners? (VA)
