I was reading about the American Civil War and i was amazed at the Gatling Gun. Has anyone made one of these from Nerf parts? I searched and got nothing. I figure someone could use Razorbeast's hand crank for it but i don't know the rest.

No i mean an actual multi-barrel rotating gun. Not just the hand crank.

The quick answer is no. Take a look at CaptainSlug's Heavy Gatling (in homemades) to get a feel for the kind of engineering hurdles involved.

As far as your search...try again. I pulled up a whole page, at least three of which said "gatling gun" right in the title. Of course, many of those are people asking what you're asking here...

CaptainSlug is working on something too, the CSHG. Here's a link. -> CSHG

Sorry, Carbon beat me to posting, when I started to type this, it was just the first two posts. I had to find the page quick and I'm a kinda slow typer.

Artemis Arms Razorbeast modification.

And I think it might be possible to add a drill to the crank if you're lazy (I've heard of the concept, but I have never seen some proof of someone actually successfully doing it). Just make sure the motor doesn't spin very fast so you don't jam every shot or break the gun.

I'll get back to it in August.
There are so many mechanical issues to overcome that I'm still not surprised that it's taking over a year. Foam is the most uncooperative medium imaginable to try and carriage in a mechanism. Especially when it's unevenly weighted.
I have one more mechanical experiment to try before I can even start on the machining process.

I would have stuck to the original design myself, I refined the CAD files before I stoped working on it.
We should stop calling out/making fun of/pissing GC off. He's actually contributed and is available for trade. He's a better than average member no doubt. Got your back Cole.

None of the conveyance systems I designed for the first version were working properly in functional tests. Hence why I gave up on it and started over.

Which is why I refined them.

Use a rubber band gun? *click*

Looks like if you made that rubber band gun yourself you would save maybe $200. It would be great if that kind of thing could shoot darts, but they're not self-propelling, like a rubber band (or bullet for that matter) so that probably won't work.I think the original idea with the rattler is good, so try that.
