Tell them I slept with their mothers!! ......ok on second thought make it their gilfriends.............no no, just say I won't make a donation to any charitable funds in their names.Between approximately 9:00PM PST on the 24th and 2:00PM PST on the 25th, NerfHaven was offline due to network congestion caused by the MS-SQL worm. Though this was a global problem for at least a few hours, the inability of NerfHaven's downstream providers to implement a solution until this afternoon is deeply disturbing to me. I'm going to talk to IPS about it and, if necessary, persue a hosting contract with a different company.
why don't we just send flowers.

Ewww... MS-SQL 2000 servers... But they're so dirty! What we need is a nice service provider based in some *nix implementation of MySQL.Between approximately 9:00PM PST on the 24th and 2:00PM PST on the 25th, NerfHaven was offline due to network congestion caused by the MS-SQL worm. Thus ends my Open Source rant for the day.

Actually, our ISP (and NerfHaven) is chock full of open source goodness. Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl, and PHP. Unfortunately, our ISP gets their feed from someone who does lots of corporate accounts and all those companies had their server farms of MS-SQL 2000 SP1 just sitting there waiting to saturate our connection to the world.Ewww... I'm in a tough situation here because I don't want to penalize our ISP for something that's clearly not their fault.
