I'd read about the stock collapsing thing, but I'd thought that would only be a problem with an overpowered spring, not a stock gun. I think now I'll just drill a hole through them both and stick a metal rod in there. I have a black eye now.

I was playing around with my new longshot, seeing if I could maybe get the scope lined up/marginally useful. I pulled back the bolt, the stock collapsed, and I stabbed myself in the eye with the friggin' scope. Now I have a black eye.

Yeah, I know that hurts. I had a spring replacement done though. I used 4 pieces of cpvc in the back, It works great. The metal rod idea would reduce weight though, interesting.....

it also works to take the stock off altogether. I think it looks better that way, but the pvc in the stock thing works well too.

You're not the first. I'm pretty sure both Carbon and Ompa have smacked themselves with their SNAP charge-rods before.

I broke my clippers trying to cut the spring. So I couldn't break the spring with my bare hands so I used a hammer to pound the clipper handle and one of the clippers broke off.

I haven't had any problems so far with the collapsing stock. Is the problem that common? I like my adjustable stock, but hearing this makes me want to bring along a couple PVC lengths, a screwdriver, and a hot glue gun to my next war--just in case if it starts collapsing.

Have you done a spring replacement Frost? I didn't have any problem at all till I relplaced the spring, then I couldn't even cock it with out it collaspsing. The cpvc I used would probably reduce weight, also only 4 peices total worked great.

With a stock LS, if you put pressure on the stock, and pull the bolt back fast enough, the stock will collapse.
I'd also recommened reinforcing it, no matter what.

The only problem is I'd still really like to keep it adjustable. I tried replacing the little spring in the stock, but the orange plate on the inside was warping and looked like it would snap to easily. And I just can't bring myself to drill or do anything to my precious lil longshot...
