His point is the 'Nerf Related' to 'off-topic' ratio of topics being made is getting out of hand. Though it's somewhat strict, it's true. This is a nerf forum, not a 'sign up here so you can post 400 times in off-topic' forum.

I would suggest getting that striaght right now because messing with the admin, pineapple alone, is like smitnig God on purpose just to get away with it for 5 minutes. Then it's 9999 days until you can phathom smiting again.

Granted there have been some topics that shouldn't have been made. Example: Like most of the "Favorites" threads should not have been made, but you can't single out this section. There have been many stupid threads made in other parts the the forum, Like this one Here
and that is just one of the many stupid ones that have been made with in the last month.

I agree. A lot of posts made in the nerf section get out of hand like that one. Even the "hey wood thiz b a cuul mod 4 a Nf/" thread is about nerf and not something totally random from Nerf.

It's a Nerf forum with 1 off-topic forum to what, at least 7 Nerf forums? Hell even airsoft forums are about 4:5. They seem to want to talk about the new Transformers nike shoe more than airsoft guns.

Off-topic has been closed before and for a reason much like this. When we asked for it back we were asked for a lower amount of these kinds of topics in off-topic. We are getting out of hand now I think.

I can single out this section because I see more members posting in this forum than in Nerf Wars.

This topic was posted my Evil to try and stop the spread of the topics posted in off-topic that are titled "What is your favorite..." and you fill in the rest. Evil, and probably a whole bunch more of the M & A team, and some of the members here on the forums, including myself, are getting irritated and losing our tollerance for these types of topics.

Put in Bob Newharts words, as to the spread of posting these topics:

This is a Nerf forum. You sign up to this forum and agree to the terms and conditions of this form to post about NERF, not who likes DragonForce or what you ate for breakfast this morning or whatever the hell you guys are posting.

If you want to do something to get people talking, buy 4 airtech 2000s and a airtech 1000, glue them all together, and call it the ClusterFuck9000 just to piss people off.

Just do what I do and don't click on the 'Off Topic' link in the forum list.

I agree that it's an issue and I believe the administrative team is going to be taking steps to deal with it. The best thing all of us can do right now is have a little patience and behave on the boards. If looking at Off Topic pisses you off and makes you angry in your posts around NH, maybe you should take a step back and just stop checking the damn thing for a little while--or take a short break from NH in general.

LMA is right. Off Topic is overrun with off-topic discussions. Even discussions that aren't really that important. Even discussions that are a bit silly. It's almost as if there should be a special "off topic" board to keep all of this stuff away from the nerf, so that Real Nerfers could ignore it.

(And if disagreeing with a Senior Member is a bannable offense, I'm clearly guilty, so go ahead.)

I say we take the button in off-topic for a new thread and make it link to a different site. I would gladly form an off-topic site. One were all the lame ass posts can go and make polls about what flavor hot pocket they should eat for dinner.

I'm not at all expressing my anger in any of my mosts before of off-topic. I think we can call it...expressive venting. If anything, it's healthy to me.

I think we all, just, need, a, whitey. Yeahhhhh.

Now THAT would restore some peace around here .

I don't think anything drastic needs to be done about Off-Topic. In no way does this mean that I love the section, the reality is quite the contrary. On this site you are judged by the posts you produced. People who linger around and make stupid posts or spend their whole day in Off-Topic will be ridiculed accordingly by both members and site staff alike. If you notice, the majority of my posts (as of posting this) are in Nerf Wars. That's how things should be if you ask me.
