1.) The Sting. Hands down, my favorite movie ever, and if you haven't seen it, go rent it. Now.
2.) Rudy. Best football movie ever. And consequently, it's the only movie men are allowed to cry while watching.
3.) American Graffiti. Classic actors, classic cars, classic setting. A great movie.
4.) A Beautiful Mind. Ron Howard is one of my favorite directors, and Russell Crowe played the part beautifully.
5.) A tie between Apollo 13 and October Sky. Both great movies, and both deal with one of my passions, air/spacecraft. Brilliant movies that everyone should see at least once.

And I don't think it was Rudy that could make every man cry, Rambo, I think its "Brian's Song". Another football movie and a true story also.

Aren't you quoting some dumb sitcom on the being able to cry during Rudy? Or is this some well known fact that I'm missing?
Decent list though.
I don't think so... if I was I missed it...

As for the top 5 WORST movies I have seen recently
1) Spiderman 3
You're the best, Taita. I almost walked out on that movie.
I still haven't seen anyone suggest the Godfather except me.

To be honest, I havn't seen it.You're the best, Taita. I almost walked out on that movie.
I still haven't seen anyone suggest the Godfather except me.
I havn't seen a lot of important, pivotal films, and I really hate that.
My NUMBER ONE priority this holidays is to watch DR STRANGELOVE.
And other classics.
As for spiderman 3.
People can add it to their favourite movies list if they want.
Opinions can never be wrong.
But it will just prove you completely fucking fail at life.

3) Lord of War
That movie was Questionable, it got boring after a while.
But. which copy of Redux do you have? Mine only takes one dvd.

The poetic justice, the starting sequence, hell, the fact that I actually sat through a Nicholas Cage film is incredible.
I got the Redux from Vietnam itself. It's four hours I think.
Do you know how awkward it is for my sister to purchase Plattoon, Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now and others, FROM Vietnam itself?

As for spiderman 3...
Did you hear about Pete Wentz (emo, quere-looking dude from Fall Out Boy) getting mad and walking out of Spiderman 3 becuase he claims they were making fun of his emo look? Hahaha! Noob.

Seriously, the plotline of Spider-Man 3 is nothing more sophisticated than the weakest episode of Power Rangers. Funny because Raimi executive produced that garbage too!
But I digress. Does anyone here like Westerns? "Once Upon a Time in the West" is in my Top 5 all-time, I totally forgot.

My top 5 in no specific order
1.Papillon
2.Animal House
3.Silverado
4.American Graffiti
5.Midnight express
Movies that were cut:
Any Steve McQueen movie-Bullit, The Cincinnati Kid, The Towereing Inferno, Magnificent 7....
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-not the cgi bullshit!
Bloodsport
Seven Samurai=Magnificent 7
Same movie
I'm very impressed by your list. Though it's not fair to say Seven Samurai = Magnificent 7 because Kirosawa did it first.
I don't claim to know what the best films ever are, but these are my 5 favorite.
5. Seven Samurai
4. Dr. Strangelove (I've changed this spot at least 8 time in the process of writing this)
3. Godfather
2. Episode V (the original, but I don't mind the FIRST revision with the CGI cloud city and such)
1. The Unforgiven (1992)
The top 2 are easy, the others are painful to decide on. Note, several movie sequels and one trilogy was left our because most sequels do not stand on their own enough to claim a top 5 spot.
