I'm tired of it, so just tell me: what did I do wrong?

My BBB is giving me ranges of 35-40. Now that's some crap. I have done some cutting, I added a new spring, painting, lubing, and loving. And it gives me this. Bull.

The gun is putting out no power. It can't get a dart out of a 9/16 piece of brass. I have to use a 4" barrel just to get it what it is now. Everything is fine inside, the airway is direct, that spring is huge, and I'm lost. I just tried to revamp it today, and nothing. Here is a pic before todays revamp.

Well Ive never brassed a bbb, but mine is PVC'ed. The problem is most likely your barrel, but maybe the spring is bad quality? Try taking your barrel off, sawing the orange barrel to about an inch long, then epoxy a 1/2 inch PVC coupler to the orange barrel, then you can attach any size PVC barrel from there, I use a 9.5 inch one on mine.

Hope you fix it, and NICE paint job, looks awsome!

Dude, that actually sounds like a realistic range. Maybe its a bit less than a few sexy BBB's, but any gun I've used only had an accurate range of 35-40 feet.

Dont be so upset.

Assuming the plunger is tight and it's delivering plenty of air volume, you're going to want to breech and telescope it.

I'd go with a 1" piece of brass that's tight enough so that you have to twist the dart in, and a 7" main barrel that's one size bigger.

So if 9/16" K&S brass fits your darts nicely, use a piece of 17/32" behind the breech to hold the dart tightly. Believe me, it makes a huge difference.

I'll have the pics in the mod section fixed soon, it's more or less the same as my Max Shot barrel.

I modded IronRhino's without a spring replacement or internal rubber banding and got an average range of 95 feet flat. I cut down the orange barrel and put a 1 3/4" or so section of brass in the end of the plunger and gooped it in, then cut down a coupler and stuck it over the orange barrel stub. I also lubed the plunger tube with some vegetable oil and replaced the two springs from the little square orange pieces with the stub that stick out of the side since one was missing. The springs from Airtech barrels work very well for that. A 6 inch 9/16" brass barrel worked fine, but you may want a longer barrel. Here's some pics from a mod I never wrote up:

If you need someone to take it off your hands, I am willing to do it. That is, if you really don't want it. But, I am sure you will find some way to fix it, good luck.

I loathe those fuckin things. Mine's handle snapped off... POS... Make sure that the casing can handle the pressure that is put on it.

Between the lot of us, the Horsemen have modded like 4 BBB's, all using thet same methods and all of them got different ranges. It's a fickle beast.

What kind of spring did you replace the stock one with? I suggest that you replace the spring with one from Home Depot, and make sure you stretch it out so it is as long as the stock spring. It worked wonders for me. :D

Alright, a few answers:

THIRST: Thanks.

Mantis: I mean this gun does not get 35-40 feet accruatly, this gun gets that over all. With skipping. I can get a target from maybe 20' away.

cxwq: I've done your Max Shot, and agree. But this gun is just not putting out the power to get the dart out of a barrel that tight.

Famine: Gotta love Seifer. And I see that...some dicks say they get these god-like ranges, some say average. I say crap.

WebbZter: I have a spring from Ace Hardware. It's a good spring, and larger than the BBB's. I mught try a new one.

In all, I think I might just try another spring, give the 17-32 a shot, and check than. Thanks for all of the help.
