I was reading about where One Man Clan bought his PETG (in the Trading section) and I am wondering, how is PETG used for packaging anything? It is hard clear plastic pipe... I don't understand. Can someone fill me in?
Here the link:

Notice how it says "Innovative Packaging Solutions"

It's used as packaging for drill bits, fluorescent light bulbs, straws, designer or holiday candies (particularly around christmas), and anything else that would fit best in a clear plastic tube.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

EDIT: I thought of the wrong sample site.
Anyways, it is ideal for packaging things because it is clear. That's why you don't see PVC advertised as good packaging material.

From the manufacturer's home page:
Another common application is for gaming dice. I have bought enough of those over the years to know what it's like.
Also, my company works with PETG all the time, but in different forms (sheets and other extruded pieces). It's a very commonly used plastic in the industry (merchandising and fixtures) because of its ease to work with and ability to bend with little relative heat/tools necessary. Plastics are really cool when you get into them and can see what the possibilities can do.
