I, personally, don't think post count should matter. If you're posting things that are worth reading, don't sweat it. Just because NerfHQ is down, it doesn't mean you guys can just come over here and start posting like maniacs.

NerfHQ does play an important role...it really is a place for the n00bs can learn and occupy themselves until they're ready to move on to the Haven.

Heck, when I joined this site, I got flamed for having 2.5 posts a day. It's the way of the Haven-it doesn't matter what people say, but new members simply get flamed if they have a high post count on their first couple of days. I've been here sinch March and I only have around 100 posts, you've been here two days, and you already have 1/4 of that. See why people are flaming you? Chill out for a little while.

That's just the way it works around here.

Well, I wouldn't if people would stop flaming me, I had to,to get them to stop. 

Lemme tell you a story about this guy that used to post on NO...

Every time a thread was started for any reason, he would respond with some pointless little comment.

When nobody posted for a little while, he'd start a few topics of his own.

He rarely had anything useful to say but people would log in and find that the last 20 threads updated were all because of him.

People flamed him.

He responded, in order to defend himself.

Re-read the last two sentences several hundred times and you get the picture.

Over the course of several months, he made nearly half of the posts on the forums. Nearly all of that was flaming, counter-flaming, defensiveness, and other various non-nerf-related shit.

The forums went to hell.

Here at NH we have a different philosophy when n00bs come and start acting like our friend at NO did. We warn them once to take a break. Then we delete them.

None of this is personal you understand, we just hold our members to a higher standard than some forums do. N00bs either learn quickly or they leave - we don't particularly care which.

My average is 2.4 per day and I have, by far, the most posts here.

I think that's obvious to those of us who were around at the time. Thank god he had to go to college. The flame wars had no boundaries. It was kind of insane and monotonous at the same time. You kept reading the same arguments and flames, but on the other hand, no topic was safe from the wrath.

You have a good policy cxwq. Can't say that having new members read topics is at all a bad idea. Hopefully N00bHQ will come back online soon and we can drag the n00bs back to their cages.

Just don't use the forums like you would an instant messanger. When you post on a forum, you gotta have some sort of meaning to your posts, instead of, say like a 3 word post with no meaning. Its just kinda annoying when you check the new posts of the day, and all you end up reading is a post like: "lol". Actually, very annoying.
