I'm am going to construct a ball valve gun with a bike pump. I was wondering if I needed a check valve on the end of my pump.

I'm pretty sure most bike pumps already have check valves built in.

Bike pumps would not be able to function without check valves built into them. The only reason you would need another check valve would be if you want to be able to remove the bike pump without whatever you just pressurized emptying.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Generally you don't need check valves after a bike valve because they do in fact have check valves built in. However, if your using a QEV or really sensitive piston valve, a check valve after your fill valve will be ideal so you don't accidentally pilot your valve causing a dangerous misfire.

This contest may have some flaws, as people can simply be a deuschbag over the internet. By Lying.

A war-like setting/invitational would be better...
