[El-Cheapo]

I found a piece of aluminum, or thats what I think it is... and cut it to the right size. Then I tried to drill a hole through it with my dremel (for the actual trigger), but it wouldn't go through. I just ended up super gluing on the trigger, will it hold?

Actually, you're right on the money. Boltsniper (as well as myself) use 1/16" aluminum sheeting, which IS fairly flismy when bent side to side, but not when compressed lengthwise, which is what matters for a trigger plate.

I went through the trouble of ordering aluminum through Mcmaster-Carr, but they have it (sheeting) at THE home depot in "building supplies." It's not a square sheet; the one you want is ~1/16" thick | 1" wide | >12" length.

Try your paintcan first, though. GREAT IDEA.

EDIT 2304: Eureka! If it's too flimsy, cut out two sections and bond them together.

I just cut out a quick little rectangle, and when I was walking back into my house I accidentally bent it in half. But when I measured the thickness, it was almost 1/16" but I'll probably just end up getting the aluminum sheeting. Thanks
EDIT:Do you think it would be possible to make the gun solely out of Clear PVC?

Yeah, aluminum shouldn't wear as much as the plastic, so it's a small price to pay for having to eventually open your gun and replace the original plastic one, which is most like to happen in a war.

Hmm, I was looking at the parts list, and saw 1" thin wall PVC. Could I use regular 1" PVC for that, or would I have to sand it? Also, I added all the expenses up and it's over $200. I don't know if I'll do this, all they sell the PVC is in lengths of 10'.

For that much money, forget it. Use the regular stuff and paint it.

What is the function of the regular (sch40) 1" PVC? If it's for the plunger chamber, no it won't work; 1/2" couplers won't fit.


I suggest you use 1 1/4" sch40 or thinwall for the plunger chamber, and 3/4" PVC + endcaps/couplers for the plunger head. HOWEVER, 1" thin will work for the plunger chamber (with the plunger head made of 1/2" PVC+endcaps). Boltsniper seems to use it exclusively for that purpose.
