What is it with eveyone calling them "clips"? It's a magazine "mag". Anyways sweet idea.
What's the difference?
Yeah, when it's mentioned about magazines or clips, it' s asked every year or so. We can tell who actually shoots firearms and who just plays video games involving firearms.
A magazine is a box, drum, or hopper that holds and feeds ammunition in a firearm, in an organized manner.
A clip, according to firearms terminology, is a device, designed to hold ammunition, until it's ready to be loaded into a weapon. The most widely recognized stripper "clips" are those found for the M1 Garand rifle, and the Russian SKS rifle.

Over the years, soldiers, cops, crooks, and video game junkies have heard and have called magazines "clips". It's generally slanged out as interchangable, but most firearm purists would rather not refer to a magazine as a "clip". Indeed we refer to them as "mags".
But if I recall correctly, Hasbro refers to the reload system on the Longshot as "clips". Just another way to keep in touch with the kiddies and non-firearm users from referring to their box magazines as "mags". So, clips it is.
Back to the topic, I really like these improvements, not so much for the so-called improved "firepower", since most experienced users of SM 5000s and Crossbows (both single-shot blasters) could dominate someone with even a modified Longshot. But I like the idea of takng the spare "clip" magazine and taking it away from the stock area, which is pretty awkward to grab when reloading, and plain looks weird there. This places the clips in a more accessible place.
Good mods, all. My son still wants to leave his Longshot, as is. I guess it's time to buy another one or three for me.
And wallymaniac, slow down on the posting. You don't have to be in every second or third forum thread. We never told our users about the auto-ban feature that kicks in whenever someone posts for an average of 15 posts per day. After day five,
poof! So take it easy, buckaroo. Just thought I'd add that.
