This is my first ever Write up, so bear with me.

Tools needed
1-bbb
2-some tape(electric, duct, hockey, thees will al work)
3-9"' 1/2" pvc
4-1' 9/16" brass tube
5-screw driver(phillips head)
6-a ruber band
Here it is. The Big Bad Bow.
Posted Image

Well, first off open up the gun. Then take out the air restrictors shown below.
Posted Image

Put a layer of tape around the stock barrel as shown. This is optional, but will help with barrel stability.
Posted Image

Now put the stock barrel back into the gun.
Posted Image

You are done with the inside so screw it all together.

Then take out youre 1' length of brass.
Posted Image

Then take out a 1" portion of the rubber band. Tape it on to one end of the brass as shown (the end of the gun that will go inside the stock barrel). This will keep the darts from falling into the plunger chamber.
Posted Image

Wrap youre tape around the brass as shown. Just one or two layers, enough to fit in the stock barrel.
Posted Image

Slide the brass 3" into the stock barrel. It should be a snug fit.
Posted Image

Next you want to get out your 9" length of pvc.
Posted Image

Now slide the pvc over the brass and have it touching the stock barrel.
Posted Image

Tape the pvc to the stock barrel.

Congrats! You are finaly done.

Here are the ranges:
1-66' 7"
2-68' 3"
3-72' 7"
4-73' 7"
5-98' 1"

I don't know why the last one went so far, the wind probably carried it.

If you have any questions I will try my best to answer them.

P.S. Please don't nag about how stupid I am, but if you have any constructive criticism thats fine.

This is a good mod, but may i suggest something a little thinner than a rubber band to go at the bottom of the barrel to not block air flow.

I haven't seen any other mods with this aproach for a BBB. It looks nice, try and get some ranges.

As noted a billion times before, I think that white "air restrictor" (it's actually more of a plunger stop) should be left in.

However it seems like all the new members think it will pwnz0rz their r4ngez0rs so leave it out if you want to.

I considered that but thats what the rubber band is for. I thought that the air restrictor might slow down the air flow.

Ok Frost for one, your newer than most of us. Two you do have a good point with the white plunger stopper, but Pointblanks idea is just as good.

The rubber band stops darts from falling down.

The white plunger-stop will prevent your plunger from pounding the soft orange plastic at the front of your gun. It will also stop your plunger head from being thoroughly thrased by your barrel too.

The rubber band is a "dart stop", the white piece is a "plunger stop".

If you're concerned about the plunger-stop impeding air flow, then you should realize the rubber band does the same. My suggestion? Drill a hole in the center of the white plunger stop for maximum airflow, but still keeping the stability of the piece.

Have you noticed without the plunger-stop, the gun does not cock smoothly? This is because your plunger is traveling farther than it's supposed to. It will add more range, but I guess the call is up to you.

Otherwise, it's a good barrel mod. I think the ranges will be impressive.

EDIT: Firstblood, I am pretty certain you have no idea how "new" I really am.

The tag says that, but I think he's known here for something long ago(not that long, more like 3-4 years). Frost, please back up with more info, please.

Hey this a great write up. Short, sweet, to the point, and your pics are clear. Good job! I was just working on my BBB not two minutes ago and decided to check NH just to make sure I don't make a $20 mistake. Many thanks!

I do have one question though: does your BBB, now with the PVC barrel, still fire the arrow darts, or is the PVC too wide for the dart openings?

Frosty has probably been around longer than you have. He's been a member of the community for years, although inactive for some. He just decided to re-register, and you owe him a little more respect than that.

Nice write-up, by the way. I haven't touched my BBB in years, I think it might be time to start tinkering with it again.

Thanks Groove.

Anyways, to get back on-topic:

How do you load a barrel that size? I've been out for some time... but back in the day we used to carry around ramrods for that kind of stuff. The way I understand it now, is that good brass sizes are available and can easily be used to make a breech system out of it.

I think you can cut a slot in the original orange barrel large enough to fit a dart through. Cut a similarly sized slot in your brass barrel. Glue the orange stock barrel in place, then to open the breech you turn the brass barrel so the holes line up. Load the dart in, then turn the brass barrel to seal the breech. It's pretty primitive, but it'll get the job done.

Also, to replace that rubber band, you can use a small diameter pipe to prevent the dart from falling back in rather than a vertical blocker (the rubber band).

Not being offensive to your mod PointBlank but shouldn't you have like hot glued the PVC too the BBB barrel?

Not a bad mod. The only thing you need to do is resize your pics so people dont have to side scroll on their browser. I would also like to vouch for the fact that Frost has been around much longer than me.

First off i would like to apologize to frost. Second,(just a question) if you were to make this have a magazine, how would you pull the dart from the pvc back into the brass?

Yes, it will fire foam arrows. And thanks for the complement.

And frost, I load it by blowing the dart down into the barrel. I plan on putting a breach, perhaps when school is out.

What do you mean by that? The breech allows you to put the darts in your barrel, not the PVC sabilizer.

As for a magazine, a rotating breech won't work (at least not in my experience). You might want to try something like the breech FA did on his ABBB.

For maximum efficiency?

1. Pump up. Count how many pumps.

2. Keep going until you hear a loud "bang".

3. Subtract one pump from the total. Rebuild your air bladder.

There you go.

I just got my BBB! There are a few things I want to know.
1. Is all that bow attachable crap necesary? Is there any purpose besides looking mildly cool?
2. Dayko's question, should I hot glue the PVC?
3. How do I load a dart if I don't use a breech system?
4. Is Angel's deoderant magazine mod applicable here? I din't know how to make a link, so just searchg for it.

1. No.
2. The electrical tape should allow the PVC to fit snugly. If you feel insecure about it falling off, use hot glue.
3. Blow a dart down the barrel or use a ramrod
4. If you want to build angel's BBB (aBBB), then use his instructions via the mod directory.

2. there is no need to. The pvc has nothing to do with the shooting mech, its just to stablize the brass.
3. I just blow the dart back into the back of the barrel.
