The dart tooth piece only lowers when the bolt is in it's most forward position.

whats up with it?

1) Was the bolt moved all the way back and then all the way forward to fire?
2) Did the bolt actually catch?
3) Were all the pieces in the right spots?
4) Was the dart tooth's spring in the right position?
5) was there any piece that may have interfered with the dart tooth's operation?
6) Did you load the darts correctly?
If the answers to all of those are yes, then we might need a few pictures or a video to understand exactly what is/was happening here.
Also: It isn't a good idea to strech the spring, because it will become less and less effective aftere only a few shots. You could always buy another LS and keep this one for parts, so you have a fresh spring and system...

The dart has to be "swallowed" by the bolt and in order for that to happen the dart-tooth has to be in the gun.
And yes the Longshot sucks when stock, but it should still be functioning properly unless you put it back together incorrectly.

so now I have stripped this bitch down of all unnecessary parts (ready to fire indicator, magazine lock, etc.) even the dart tooth. Now when I load it up it will shoot maybe 10 feet if i'm lucky. It is an increase from what it was stock but there is still no range!!!!

There are only two possibilities left.
1. Something is defective.
3. You're doing something wrong.

I would put the thing back together and return it.
Get a new one, if that one doesn't work, then your doing something wrong.

- the magazine lock ( I like to remove my magazine when i would like to)
- The loaded chamber indicator (I know when it is ready to rock)
- the cam arm for the loaded chamber indicator
- and lastly the bipod
p.s. Do you know how to do the AR removal mod? I have no idea on the longshot
I also can't return it, because I took the front gun apart for a cool ass mod.
I took out the front guns internals and took off the foregrip and in its place I have a Maglight inside of it. Just involved a little bit of cutting and VIOLA!!! I can see at night.

The magazine lock holds the magazine in place and levels it so that the bolt can load a dart properly.there are tons of unecessary parts
all of those are unnecessary for operation
- the magazine lock ( I like to remove my magazine when i would like to)
- The loaded chamber indicator (I know when it is ready to rock)
- the cam arm for the loaded chamber indicator
- and lastly the bipod
The piece that prevents you from removing or inserting the magazine when the bolt is in the forward position prevents you from damaging the bolt.
And yes the rest of the parts you listed are not vital and have affect on the function, although the priming indicator can be handy for later modifications.

But don't bother until you can get the gun to actually fire. I still don't really have enough to go on to diagnose your problem without pictures.
