In a few hours I'm going to shut down the forums so I can make a copy of the database and move it over to the new site. I'll start the DNS change propagating at the same time and hopefully I'll have the new site ready to go in 24-48 hours when the DNS update hits you.

If for some reason I have the new site ready long before DNS updates, I'll post a temporary link at NHQ.

cx, these boards are definitely not the same anymore. The old ones nicely matched NH's dark format, but these don't. I also don't like how these new ones say "INVISION: Power Board" at the top of every page.

I want the old NH back!!!

Oh, I'm just kidding. I have to say, though, I kind of like the old version better. I think it had better smilies, for one, but also because some button were easier to get to.

By the way, did IBF always have the "flood control"? It's kind of annoying having to wait a minute before posting again.

I'll be looking at that new content in a day or two when I've finished the migration. I spent most of the last week doing a dry run of the host move and forum upgrade to make sure the data wouldn't be corrupted by the updaters.

Next week will be devoted to re-darkifying this place and getting all the new content up.

I mean, wife, kid, school, job, and life gives him precisely dick in the area of free time, all of which he pours into this site. It will be dark again, the content will go up, life will go on....just give the man some breathing room.

I posted that NH's forums are back over at NHQ. By the way, I actually like this facelift for NH. Anyhow, the smileys are the same as they ever were.

You must be crazy, Janga. The NHQ forums are nice, and the light format is very welcoming. At NH, I like how it's so dark, as if to say, "If you're gonna mess around, get the f*ck out of here...". Just seems like a place with more serious discussion and people that passed English class.

Anyhow, cxwq, once you get NH "re-darkified", do think you could reposition the "Mark Topics Read" link to the same spot it used to be in? It's kind of dumb being at the bottom of the page, because the new topics are usually at the top anyway.

Allright... I've made a new skin available while I'm working on it.

Choose NHDark in your control panel.

Eventually we'll have both a charcoal theme and the old black 'n blue theme - this is a preliminary version of the former.

I don't like it very much. It's not really black, kinda, er, grayish. And stuff is hard to read. Anyhow, the new black/blue skin will a replica of the old one, right? That's the one that I like best.
