This is the brass part of the breech.

Measurements
From end to end: 8 in
From (Green) end to edge of breech: 1.77 in
From edge of breech to edge of breech (lengthwise): 2.1 in
1 in around (as in diameter) was cut. Just a little more than half the pipe.
From front end of breech to front of pipe: 4.08 in

Here is a Pic of the fit of the dart; it's perfect.
(Get ready for lots of measurements in the next one. Its the pvc part)

Posted Image

Sorry, the pic doesn't completely show the other hole,

Measurments-
From end to end: 8 in
From back edge to back edge of breech: 1.68 in
From edge to edge of the breech: 2.44
From front edge of pipe to front edge of breech: 3.82 in
Breech Diameter measurement: about 5/8 in (needs to be sanded just a bit).
~IMPORTANT~ These next measurements are for the bigger hole that the breech arm slides through. I will refer to this hole as the "arm hole" or A.H.
From back of arm hole to back of Pipe: 1.23 in
From edge to edge of the arm hole: 4.45 in
From front edge of A.H. to front edge of breech: 2.25 in
A.H. Diameter Measurement 3/4 in

Ok, just so you know, I measured the decimal measurements with calipers, and the diamiter measurements with a tape measure. Thats why they are in fractions.
Lastly here is a group pic of all the pieces next to each other.

I really hope that this helps, If anything was confusing, just ask.

Edit: Also, I give full credit to FA24 for the ingenious breech design.

Nice job so far. Me and my friend are going to be making an ABBB this summer. Maybe sooner.
I think these measurements will help us out quite a bit, won't have to do as much trial and error.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks, also I was going to just edit my first post, but I'll just say it now, the brass was cut with one of those cut-off blades that break a lot (they sort look like a thin stone disc), and the pvc was cut with a dremmel bit that looks like a small saw. It says that its used for cutting soft plastics and such (on the box).

Yeah, I find that they break a lot if you are too harsh with them, and they really hate metals. Try a diamond cutting wheel if you can find one, they last alot longer. Also, watch how long you use it, as heat will break down the discs, so let them cool often.

Yes, the key to cut-off blades is to go slowly, using little pressure. A dimond edge would be nice, but I don't know where they're sold. But then again, I haven't really looked for one.

Good measurements,

my friend and I both will be performing Angel's BBB mod this summer. Should make us a slick pair on the field (by slick, I mean unstoppable).

I suggest getting a pipe cutter--it'll probably save you $$ on how many discs you're going to break.

I broke a lot of discs getting started with the dremel, but now it's pretty easy for me to not break a disc until it's almost completely worn down to nothing. A good clamp and dremeling posture is necessary.

Update: I have basically everything put together, but there is only one thing giving me trouble, and that is the breech arm connection (to the breech slider). It keeps on coming off after fireing. I have tried multiple combinations of Hot Glue, Loctite, and PLumber's Goop. Nothing seems to work. Man its annoying...

I recommend Extreme Power medium green class superglue. $4-5 at Hobby Lobby.

It can be purchased at HobbyLobby, if you have one.

The stuff will not come off for anything. I trashed a longshot because a drip slid between the bolt and the plunger housing.

Not pretty. Trust me.

Have you tried JB-Weld?

Make sure to completely clean the surface off before moving on to trying a new adhesive. Residue hot glue could significantly weaken the bonding strength. You can also try to make grooves in the Brass to increase the surface area for bonding.

I myself would prefer a mechanical bond over a chemical (adhesive) bond, but it would require modifying the outer PVC significantly so you can fit a hose clamp or something on top of the sliding brass.

Sand both the cpvc coupler and the brass where they will be glued.
I only used plumbers goop and it is still sticking well. Make sure you give the plumbers goop 48 hours to dry and try to get as much of the coupler onto the brass as you can.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

If I recall correctly, Angel's clips are at a slight angle and are not directly vertical.

Hey! My topic got moved, and I figured out a couple things that went wrong. The breech arm was crooked, and pushing away from the breech, the area of the breech slider was filthy with glue residue, and lastly, I had cut off too much of the 90 degree coupler that connects it. I am not sure if I want to try to still use the same breech though, It would take a lot of work to sand off all of the residue (it got all over the slider peice). I'm not sure what I'll do now.

CRAP! I forgot to mention that the brass I used for the breech was 17/32. That will greatly affect the measurements. I am not sure why, but the foam I use fits perfectly in 17/32 brass. If you want to use 9/16 brass you will have to cut off more cross wise.
