Hi everyone Jo here, recently I've gotten into the nerf realm, thanks to a hardcore nerfing friend, but unfortunately he had moved abroad thanks to his education, and we've yet to get back into contact.

My question is that I'm considering getting a N-Strike Maverick, but while doing some surfing on the online stores I've came across two types of the gun, one has the main body blue and the barrel yellow, and the other sporting a yellow main body.
Now as I've tried the Maverick before from my friend's collection of heavily modded guns, I was considering doing the same with the one which I will purchase. But since there is two versions out there I was wondering which one is better for modding or is there no difference between them, and that it is just a paint job?

And as a final note can someone be kind enough to tell me is there a point in stretching the spring in the maverick after removing the air restricters as I've seen some members has mentioned that it may cause the maverick to break.

Well, Im pretty sure that there the same gun. accept that the restrictors are a bit diffrent.

Same gun, but the yellow version seems a bit more durable, and it has a bigger spring and a better cocking pin.

Thanks for the Info, so basically from what I gathered,

Blue not as strong

Yellow better parts but more effort needed for modding.

guess it's gonna be yellow one which I'm getting then, need the parts to be strong since I'm such a clutz with tools, not that the color matters anyway since I'm gonna repaint it.

If you're brand new, I'd recommend getting a Nite Finder as well. They're a good deal easier to mod then Mavericks and they have top-class range. Plus they're only six bucks.

You should not stretch the spring; it is better at first, then loses power quickly.

There is no significant difference between the two. Pick whichever you like best. My blues have proven more reliable than my yellows.

If you're going for a spring replacement, I'd take a Blue Mav. Every Yellow Mav I've tried has had the bar come off the cocking slider, while both my Blue Mavs- modded about four months before the Yellows- are still going strong.
