I'm enrolled at VCU School of the Arts in Richmond, not at VA Tech. If I remember correctly Bolt lives in Richmond, too.Story.
Groove and The Infinite Shindig are the only nerfers I know that goes there, but Bolt might? I hope everyone is ok.
Shinny, however, is enrolled at VA Tech...

I'm alive. I'll post more later.
I'm glad to hear you're alright dude, that was my purpose of visiting here.
Apparently one guy I know slept through the entire thing, and my brother's friend's cousin is in critical condition and about to die.
This is some terrible stuff.

I was not on campus at the time. I was actually about to catch a bus
leaving from my off campus apartment when the lock down occurred. My
roommate since freshman year, Frank, was working in the building where
most of the shootings occurred. He is OK. When he was evacuated from
the building, he had to step over a body of a man who was clearly shot
in the head. Apparently one floor below, two class rooms were shot
up. A professor was shot through the head, and word is reporting that
most students were shot execution style. I heard if they didn't dive
out the second story window, they were shot.
The evacuation didn't occur until a SWAT team was on the scene. When
Frank was evacuated, it was at a dead sprint under police escort.
When he left, he noticed some of the doors were chained shut. This
was most likely done by the shooter so now one would leave the
building. The dead sprint was bent down for a half mile to the main
student center. This is due to the fact that people were shot at
Burger King at the smaller student center. If you see the home video
of the shooting, the building in the background on the right of the
screen is the one he evacuated from. I was talking to him over
messenger through most of this.
I've never felt unsafe at this campus. I just wonder why students
were not informed of a shooting that occurred at 7:15 AM until 9:26
AM. Twenty minutes after that email was received, the main shootings
began. It's being reported that it was thought the initial two
shootings were isolated and there was no risk to the campus.
I do not have any classes in Norris Hall, which is the building where
most of the casualties were sustained.
You may be hearing an interview with him or myself on CBS news New
York. A mother of one of my friends at home is a producer for CBS and
she called us.
Again, myself and my roommates are OK. I have been a mile off campus
all day. My phone has been ringing off the hook with people wondering
if I am alive. During this time, we've been trying to react to this
and take a roll call of our friends at school. The body count is
rising.
PLEASE pray for the Virginia Tech community.

Can you tell us what kind of weapon he used? I can't see it happening with anything less than a submachine gun or assault rifle. 50 people hit with a pistol? That'd be absurd. I mean, granted, the whole thing is absurd, but that'd be even more absurd.
Edit: Apparently he had a 9mm pistol and a .20cal pistol. That's just insane.

Considering that the number of shooters was unknown for some time, the shooter had locked himself and his victims inside the building (with chains) and that SWAT relies on proper timing AND overwhelming force, it seems like they did their job...
It wasn't that SWAT wasn't ready, it was that the time was not right. Think of it that way and lets not get off-topic here.
32 people lost their lives today because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, caught trying to better themselves like so many of us in college right now. I'm not religious but I ask that those of you who pray pray one extra time and lend my name to it.
Just tragic. Unthinkable pain. I can't believe these news reports and I'm thankful that my best friend since grammar school (Shinny) did not have to witness this or worse.
