I am looking to compile a list of what nestsinto what and what couplers into what.

This can get confusing evn for some of the smartest people. So can we basicaly make an official guide that helps people with this stuff?

If you can contribute than please emphasize if it is a perfect fit(wil fit in perfectly without tape etc.) or if it is close to perfect(put a little bit of tape around )

Here are a list of some barrel material that I KNOW have a perfect fit
COUPLERS
1/2" CPVC Coupler acts as a coupler for 1/2" CPVC.
1/2" brass acts as a coupler for 17/32" brass
17/32" brass acts as a coupler for 9/16" brass
9/16 " brass acts as a coupler for 19/32" brass.
19/32" brass acts as a coupler for 9/16" brass.
17/32" brass acts as a coupler for 1/2" brass.
9/16" brass acts as a coupler for 17/32" brass
1/2" PVC coupler acts as a coupler for 1/2" PVC

NESTINGS
1/2" brass nests into 17/32" brass
17/32" nests into 9/16" brass.
9/16" brass nests into 19/32" brass.
17/32" brass can squeeze into OMC's PETG.

Thanks

It should be painfully obvious what will fit into what by the measurements alone. Just convert your fractions (9/16 = 18/32 & 1/2 = 16/32) or figure out the decimal equivalents.
And pipe couplers fit the outer diameter of the same size of pipe.

With some dremeling, CPVC will fit into 1/2" sch. 40 PVC.
And I think 9/16" brass nests into 1/2" copper. I'm not sure how well, or if it works, but I think I've seen it done here before. Don't remember who did it.

Edit: I meant sch. 40 pvc...

With some e-tape, 9/16" brass fits into 1/2 sch40 PVC, and I think 19/32" will fit into it as well. Really, as CS said, brass sizes are pretty easy, and just getting PVC and coupler measures is idiotic proof. Other than that, it's trial and error.

1 step apart brass sizes nest perfectly into each other (they are spaced by 1/32", and have a wall thickness of 1/64"), at least with K&S brass. However, with PVC, can anyone fit sucessive sizes within each other? The SCAR-N bolt, for example, is 1/2", but slides in 3/4" (I think). However, I can't get PVC/CPVC to nest, even using thinwall.

Also, 19/32" brass fits perfectly into 1/2" PVC.

For maximum efficiency?

1. Pump up. Count how many pumps.

2. Keep going until you hear a loud "bang".

3. Subtract one pump from the total. Rebuild your air bladder.

There you go.

Oh, yea I listed the obvious ones.

But maybe we can find what PETG nests into etc.

Does anyone know what is a good coupler for OMC's PETG or 17/32" brass(besides 9/16" brass)?

I don't think using brass for coupler is that good of an idea. Just use 1/2 PVC coupler and stick 1/2 PVC into the coupler. OMC's PETG will fit into the 1/2 PVC with a little e-tape, as will 7/16 brass.

But maybe we can find what PETG nests into etc.

Anything with roughly a .572" ID or slightly larger.
1/2" SCH40 PVC is kinda close with a .602" ID

If you want nominal dimension for anything you can simply poke through http://www.mcmaster.com and it will tell you want pipe sizes have what dimensions.

How about O-rings? Because it doesn't seem an obvious connection to me that Industrial no. 18 fits in 1" thinwall.

Yeah, all y O-rings are imperial measure, giving me inner diameter and outer diameter. I haven't seen numbered (No.) O-rings at all (however, I'm in Canada).

If you select any given size number of o-ring in the mcmaster catalog it will tell you what the dimensions are, then you can compare those to pipe dimensions.
