I know that some of you are very good at doing stuff with computers so I really need your help. I know how to put it together but, buying the stuff I'm having trouble with. I have already returned 4 video cards. Ok so I bought this motherboard, and it says its ATX and 12x9.6, and I want to get this case, but on this site it says that the maximum motherboard size is 11x12 and ATX, so will that motherboard fit that case?

From what i can see... if you turn it sideways, which might be hard to build with and such... it'll work. I would do that though, because it'll disrupt the airflow.

I would look for a different case or just return the motherboard.

But it won't work sideways because it has all the other connectors and things on the side that need to go out of the case a certain way, but thanks anyway.

You may want to hit up Cpt. Slug. From what I last remember he's building a phenomenal computer from scratch -- and thus will probably be able to help you quite a bit.

I've never been an Apevia fan. Try NZXT or Thermaltake. Trinity from NZXT is one you might like. The lights and side viewing panel are similar to that Apevia. That mobo shouldn't be a problem for the average ATX supported case, anyway.

Thanks, that case is actually one of the best ones that I have seen yet. I just couldn't find many cases because I already had a power supply, so I guess that solves my problem. If anyone can help me on my original question I would love it just because it's good knowing about ATX stuff.

That case will work fine, the description is incorrectly written in Engrish. Any case that meets the ATX form factor will fit your motherboard (Has required clearances around the motherboard, has appropriate stand-off locations, removable I/O cover, and 7 expansion slots).
But if you can let me know what kind of price range you're interested in I can give you a better recommendation.
If you need ANY advice come to me, or register at http://www.ocforums.com and ask there.

Generally it's NOT a good idea to trust the power supply that comes with any given case because they're unreliable, of poor build quality, and usually cannot supply enough stable current to support modern hardware.

For a complete beginner's guide to building a computer go to.

But any specifics you need to know are covered in the motherboard manual, and the heatsink installation manual. For more in-depth information poke around in http://www.ocforums.com
You can learn about anything and everything there.

You may want to hit up Cpt. Slug. From what I last remember he's building a phenomenal computer from scratch -- and thus will probably be able to help you quite a bit.

Yeah, I've built a ton of machines. New, used, or painfully old I can diagnose any kind of problem. And having made cases from scratch several times I know what makes an effective enclosure.

I am actualy using that case in my current build. Its a nice case. The front door is sturdy and wont snap off on you. The only things I dont like is that it runs a little warm and my screen that shows the temp died out a month or to after i bought it, tho that could be my fault. Good luck on building!

Thanks. So I'm glad that that will work. I'm probably not going to use that case anyway because I saw much better ones on the site Rambo mentioned. I need one without a power supply because I already got one. If any of you has a good case they have used or saw that will work with my motherboard you can just PM me. Now I can start saving up for my other stuff now. ^_^

Be careful: My NZXT does not allow for my power supply to be fastened in in any way, it just rests on the shelf. I think it's my power supply's non-traditional holes, but it could be the case. Then again, my other power supply fits nicely with screws.

Was that power supply that didn't fit an AXT power supply, because that could have been the problem.

I'm fairly sure that power supplies are not unique to the motherboard/case type. The problem was not the size of the PSU, the screw holes did not line up with the case holes, that's all. To be honest, I forget what brand it is, but my Antec TruePower 550Watt fit fine in my NZXT Zero case.

There are many different power supply form factors. TFX12V, SFX, ATX, ATX 2.0 (24-pin ATX with different connector requirements), 2U, 1U, LFX, CFX, and proprietary crap.
Here are the mounting dimensions for ATX and ATX 2.0 power supplies.

Any power supplies made for the ATX specification should have that hole pattern.

For more information on form factors see http://www.formfactors.org

My current favorite case manufacturer is Silverstone. But I'm not sure what your price range is and they're kind of high on the price scale.
