I was out lookin for some new guns today and picked up this odd (in my own words) friction powered gun. I got it home and slapped some batteries in it. (it takes 3 AA) It fires in kind of the same way a hot wheels car is propelled by 2 spinning wheels. It's semi auto, holds 20 darts, hits 20' right out of the box. So I poped it open, and the first thing I could think of was to slap rubberbands on the wheels for more friction. I couldn't really think of anything more to do atm so I just closed it up. I loaded it up and took some test shots 31', 26', 30', 29'.
The range may not be the best but the ROF is awesome.

Many of the NIC know of the Tommy 20. This may not apply to your area, but it's been out for a while. Since it's motorized, some have replaced the motors with ones with higher RPMs. I forget modded ranges, but like most other motorized guns, turn it, flatten it, stick it back in the box, and return it saying that's what it originally was, a big pile of useless plastic. Or unless you are like some people, keep it as a novelty item. You never know what you can do with a gun that you master anyways. :D

The gun isn't really too bad for indoor/close quarters fights. Great ROF. Also, I really like the semi auto firing.

Yeah I knew it was out for a bit already, because it was only like 15 bucks. It's a good gun still, and I do think it's going to end up being my #3 next to my modified LBB and LS. I also wouldn't be unloading all 20 rounds at one time. I would mostly use it for short bursts when running from sn1per spot to sn1per spot. I added the rubberbands because 1 it increased ranges and 2 I can now fire my MDTDs.

Yeah, I can only imagine the noise it would make. I once saw someone who made a foam baffling, and it fitted around the motor, so that there was enough air circulation that it didn't overheat, but enough to reduce the noise somewhat. And when indoors, it was alot harder to hear due to the muffled sound. Also, any ideas for easy reloading of this beast?

Nice Mod. What I did with my tommy was wraped duct tape around the motors. That helped. Also to keep it quiet and not as loud get a shoe box and cut it so it fits around the top and bottom of the motors. Then fill it with foam peanuts. I did it to mine. It looks like a piece of crap. But it will only make a soft buzzing sound not a loud roar.

I currently have a hot-run one of these. I can get ~45 feet out of it.

It has yet to short, but it has never been used on a hot day.

As for a quick reload, I don't see a way to do it. it is directly tied to the advancing trigger, so it can't come off like a FireFly or Maverick.
