What a great war. I don't even know where to begin. Props to RAMBO for doing an amazing job hosting it, even though he was crippled. Big thanks to his mom for shuttling people back and forth, bringing me asprin when my leg got fucked, and generally being cool about the whole thing. I think we all owe RAMBO and his mom a big thanks.

Yesterday was an amazing day. First, I must stress: the field we played on. The field was awesome. Let me rephrase that - the field was fucking metal. Despite some of the hazardous obstacles that littered the ground and structures (broken glass everywhere, rusty nails and bolts sticking out of things, holes in the concrete structures, multiple levels with often times to railing for saftey), nobody got seriously injured and everyone was pretty safe overall.

I'm going to say sorry in advance for my horribly long post, but there was so much awesome packed into one day that it's hard to just pick a few favorite moments.

Food for thought / Favorite moments:
-Like Evil said, the vertical aspect was fun and challenging. It was interesting to see how some people adapted.

-Round 3 of the day, on the first field, when it came down to the nitty-gritty 2vs2: Evil and myself versus Shrimp and Kuhlie. What a great round. Which brings me to my next point...

-Shrimp's yellow and black penis cannon of death. FUCK.

-The hallways on the first field literally became a shooting gallery, and there's only real 2 directions you can go. I remember one specific time being cornered by Shrimp's fucking penis cannon of death at one end, and the rest of his team at the other end, then jumping out of a window and getting a triple hit on 3 different people. Only consecuative triple hit I got the whole day, I think.

-Brainstorming strategies and applying and adapting them to the layout of the field. This was a lot of fun to do, especially for the vets and myself. Playing Patton, as Kuhlschrank dubbed it - telling everyone 'the plan,' how to do it and where to shoot. It usually worked and was very rewarding.

-The archway of death that Evil spoke of; I sat in one spot and literally got 7 or 8 kills from the same spot - and I think it's important to note that none of them were on Evil or Shrimp, those two (in particular) played it very smart. In fact, both teams exchanged some great shots that round.

-Setting up fire lanes - Shrimp, myself, z80 and some of his crew got some well-placed long range shots off. I got some very, very long-range lucky headshots on people throughout the day, largely due to the fact that OMC's darts he made for me were fucking perfect (think it's important to mention OMC's master-crafted darts here, because this would have not been possible for me without his skill in the craft), so thanks to OMC for that.

-------

Other than that, my guns performed pretty well yesterday and thankfully none of them broke. The weather held up pretty well and everyone's attitude made for a great war overall. I do apologize for leaving without helping pick up trash and scrounge for darts, but please understand that I drove seven hours to get there and I needed to get back on the road before the big storm front moved in. Also important to mention that z80's crew brought some colorful new faces to my Nerfing circle, and alot of them were interesting people to Nerf with. Thanks for coming, guys.

Thanks to Evil for the kind words, and to everyone again for making the long trek worthwhile. It's always a pleasure to Nerf with you guys. Hopefully I'll see you all in May for the LCM summer tune up.

The war was great; everyone really did put the soup on the stove. I have the same feelings about the field as Evil Angel has. I can't believe no one got hurt and the first field we were at kind of sucked because of it's narrowness.

Some of my Favorite Moments:
-only a 45 minute drive for me
-shooting oodles of people with the big blast
-shooting Kuhlschrank 2 times and making him do his little "I'm angry you make me throw my pistol!" thing.
-getting hit right in the temple by Groove.
-Hersh's hat
-Pillar round with Evil Angel
-The shot I got on Cranky's face

Also I have to say that Z80's group played really well same with Skitzo.

Did anyone get any pictures this war?

Arg, I am so unbelievable sore today.
But it was so worth it.

I played pretty terribly once we switched to the larger field. My long-range game is pretty weak since that's not the kind of play I have practice in.
I'll have some photos posted later today.

Highlights
+ OH CRAP UMBRELLA CANNON
+ Dead Baby Float
+ Getting taken out primarily by Tyler in two rounds
+ Getting Gatorade to almost come out of OMC's nose
+ Playing Peak-a-boo with Kenji
+ Meeting the nicest paintballer's I've ever met
+ Being asked a million questions by the new people
+ Getting shot in the temple by Groove from 100 feet away

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Yeah the tripod makes it pretty foolproof. None of the pictures you took were unusable, I just dropped a few that didn't show a round in progress.

All of those pictures are excellent. Thanks so much guys. My girlfriend particularly loved the one of Groove and I. I believe the caption should read, "Death By Sexy".

Couldn't agree more. I'm glad that a good deal of the pictures that I took turned out alright, since I went sans tripod.

That looked like fun. You guys should do it again this summer, and maybe I can come.
