So the golf course is out. I'll start looking into alternative parks. The golf course could be used when there is snow on the ground – other than that someone is always playing.
There are a lot of parks up-county that tend not to get much use – or at least not as much as wayside. There are a few in particular up near Laytonsville – one on Sundown Road and one on Brookeville Road that rarely seem to be in use.

From the golf course owner:
The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

That's funny. Well, I've nerfed in swampy-fucking jungle conditions, hot arid desert conditions, in mist and rain...I suppose the last great frontier I could hope to conquer at this point in my life would be Nerfing in several feet of snow. Still though, he did drop the names of a few other parks that we could check as a follow-up, so that's something good.
Did we ever find out the cause or reasoning why the person who said he'd show up with five people did not infact, show up with five people? Just curious.

Wldworld? I spoke to him a few days ago. As we already knew he had some kind of practice, didn't get home until 12 and it was raining where he lives. So he assumed we would only keep going for another hour and that we would be having shitty weather at the war site, so he said fuck it and stayed home.
So...when's the next one?

The beginning of June hopefully because I'm going to be in Beijing between June 25th and August 1st.So...when's the next one?
I, or the the first person available to do so, need to go research the other parks that were recommended.
None of the locations in my area are convenient in terms of public transportation.

There may be a possiblility of me contacting Jefferson Paterson Park and see if they will allow us to use their wooded area. I highly doubt the main park will be open to our use. It's a tire park made out of recycled tires...it's alright. There are a few miles of wooded area to it. You can go all the way to the beach, so if one were to be lost, walk 'til you get to the beach and find a trail. The only real bad thing about it is the density of the woods and the fact that people walk the trails...and it's a few miles out. So, it's up to you guys if you really want me to contact them in acts of desperation.
He came, He saw, and he conquered... But where did everyone go?

That sounds conducive to nature walks, and not so much to nerfing.
I will be researching alternative locations in April. It's going to be difficult to find something that matches the positive aspects of "The Gauntlet" though.
I'm currently compiling a list from
http://www.mcparkand...icnicS_loc.shtm
and
http://www.rockville...rks-facilities/
And other county pages and then will go check them out in person once I have a free weekend.
The downside of using a park is there's no guarantee they will be available for use unless you pay a really silly sum of money, or you can be sure to pick an unpopular one.
