Enjoy the war everyone. May Hersh not get Ultimated at this war.

I am still attending, as is El Hombre, and I am picking up Captain Slug along the way. The female that was supposed to accompany us, unfortunately, does not have the camera equipment in her possession so she will not be attending.
The university techie that was supposed to test and calibrate her camera equipment has not done his job, so no filming equipment. She was actually going to film a mini-documentary and do interviews, with real filming stuffs, which I do admire. So, she'll be attending the next one, filming, but not this one.
I'm going out to get a quick bite to eat, then come back and do last minute prep with my guns and ammo. Everything else seems to be in order, and just a reminder to Captain Slug that I'll be outside your place around 9:30 tomorrow morning.
See you guys tomorrow.

This can mean only humor and fun will come.
I have many hundred darts and 38 red ones, so don't touch those!
See everyone in a few hours.
As always, I'll be at the War site 30 minutes early. Though, 9:30 sounds damn early, maybe I'll be there at 9:45.
Call me if you get lost.

Oh, I'm sore and it isn't even the "day after" yet. My feet ache and that is the pain I love.
Steve, great to meet you and welcome you to your first(?) or second nerf war.
Tyler, In case we hadn't met at the last ECNO, great to meet you. And if we had, great to meet you "for real this time."

If I get anyone's name wrong in the photo notes PLEASE make sure to correct me.
I love my camera. The video will be up once I get it mashed together into something watchable.

Note to self, go to a DCNO at some point...

Well, not much to say other than that it was another amazing DCNO, as per usual. Despite it being overcast the whole day and arriving late due to MapQuest fucking me over, I had a great time. Everyone played fair and gave it their best, and you can't ask for much more than that.
Lots of good hits and memorable moments during the day. The rounds weren't too long and weren't too short, they were just right. I also think that the pistol round and 3 team FFA was nice just to mix it up a bit.
Slug's Magstrike was pretty awesome, people soon learned not to wander near him while holding that. Monkey's cannon was amazing (until it unfortunately broke during the last round of the day), and I'm glad I wasn't on the receiving end of that fucker today. I cringe whenever I see it fire, in fear of what is to come. El Hombre was sneaky ninja most of the time, which made lurking through the gauntlet just that much more terrifying. Kuhlschrank made it out too, which made it the first reunion of the East Coasters who headed out to Armageddon since last year. And a big thanks to the local guys, Cranks & THIRST as well. I, myself, shot several people in the ear today which was unusual yet rewarding at the same time. I also tried my hand at commanding my team about where to move and who to shoot, etc. That kind of stuff only works when people on your team listen to you, so I owe a many thanks to everyone for listening to my commands (and at times, funny hand signals).
I'm sweaty, I'm sore and exhausted, but I feel satisfied.
(That's what she said)
Okay, I'm done.

Getting hit all 3 times in a round by the same person is depressing.
(Dammit, Hersh.)
(Not really.)
But all in good fun.
I tried to work up the motivation to write more of a recap-y type thing.
It didn't work.

I got Hersh out singlehandedly one round. I'm proud.
Steve was awesome.
Eric, thanks for bringing drinks.

I have a quick question or two. one:
Whose gun/guns is this?
Two: How often are DCNOs
If you're talking about the most prominent person in the picture, that is me. I'm holding my Crossbow/SF "integration" and a nite finder.
The Splitfire is attached below the crossbow where the grip is. The grip was cut out to make an SF fit. It's Groove's idea and in fact, it's Groove's crossbow case.
A picture of a similar crossbow/SF
In the center is THIRST holding a crossbow and on the right is CaptainSlug holding his Magstrike with a 20 shot clip attached to a mighty large air tank. Search the modifications forum to find it, I'd imagine it is posted.
We try to hold 4 DCNOs a year, seasonally, though the winter one is often skipped or attendance is bare. So ya, 3 DCNOs a year.
I'm going to sleep, I'll tell everyone how much I love them later.

Groove got much better video than I did. The "unsteady cam" was mostly a failure.
Tylenol Extra Strength is my friend the day after. I have knots EVERYWHERE.
Other goings-on
+ Shooting people with the Magstrike20 is extremely satisfying, even if it's extremely unwieldy and my aim sucks. I apologize for making RAMBO fall over backwards. Even though it was really funny.
+ Getting shot in the nipple HURTS ALOT. I never got shot in the head or ear though.
+ If you're going to run around a corner, only do so if you know for sure that the ground won't drop out from under your feet. (me injuring myself is in the video thanks to Groove)
+ NerfMonkey really was like, well a monkey.
+ Apparently I'm good at making darts.
+ Watching Crank jump 3 feet into the air and scream at the top of his lungs was priceless.
+ When one team has the high ground the other team is going to take it's sweet time to come after them. Not because of a tactical disadvantage, but because they are too lazy to climb the hill.
++ While I was resting I talked to the father and son that came to the school to play basketball. He's interested in modified Nerf Guns after having seen ours in action. He will be trying to modify one (or asking me to do so) for the express purpose of shooting geese off of the golf course he owns.
Better still, he invited us to use the golf course for a future war should we want to have one during the times when the golf season is slow. I'm going to keep in contact with him about it and it could mean that we will have a venue for future wars that will not have an attendance limit.

Dude, he wanted spray paint!
Anyways awesome war. I'm still pissed that my crossbow broke halfway through the day. Everyone played really well.
Nerfmonkey just so you know after the war me, OMC, and Rambo all bought big blasts.
And the best part of the whole trip was I got a stock supermaxx 5000 for .90 cents at a thrift store!

That was one of the coolest videos I've ever been in as well. Good job Slug.

Very nice video. Good war. Worth the trip and worth the soreness.
Thanks for the PETG, Hornet and NF knockoff Hersh and Ted. And thanks to Steve for reassembling the Longshot in about two minutes.

I believe DCNO = DC Nerf Outing, but it could be "off", not sure.
Great war guys.

Yeah, I've modified 4 or 5 of them already in countless ways and know the thing backwards and forwards. Everything has to go into it in a specific order. And thanks to Steve for reassembling the Longshot in about two minutes.
Oh, and Dean. That Hornet you sold me is going to be completely unrecognizable once I'm done with it. Will post plenty of pics once it's back in one piece.

And it's District of Columbia Nerf Out or Outing, whichever you prefer. Though tell yourself whatever you want, if it helps you sleep at night.
+ Watching Crank jump 3 feet into the air and scream at the top of his lungs was priceless.
When was that? When I was running at Rambo, jumped up to shoot him and hit the building with my body? Physics 'a bitch.
Or some other time?

A work in progress...
Will have the stuck pump plus a one-way valve for optional hook-up to my massive air tank.
