Well I've been a member here for a long time and been modding guns for longer but never had a good base of people to have wars with. So I got to work and over the past 2 months we've been recruiting like mad and now have a little over 30 people on our list of people that are warring with us. I've pointed many of them to this site and since many of them are in their 20's you can expect some quality new members.

Some good friends of mine are on staff at my church and we have access to a roughly 20,000 sq. ft. building. Gym, hallways, classrooms, upstairs, downstairs,etc all carpeted and air conditioned. We generally keep it pretty dark for alot of sneaking and ambushing.

We've had about 6 wars so far, every friday night averaging about 10 people or so each time. We've been recruiting so many new people that I finally started sending out evites (online invitations) via email to get us organized. Anyways most of our players are 18 years old or older and have really taken to modding their guns for these weekly wars.

In fact we had so many new people with new guns that we were spending a couple hours modding guns every week instead of playing. So I decided that we needed to have a specific night to Mod guns. So tonight we had 5-6 of the newer guys over to the house to get their stuff taken care of.

Beautiful sight isnt it? (btw the guys really like modding the BBB can you tell?)





Anyways this coming friday could be our biggest war yet, 15-20 people. We play a variety of games but the most common are deathmatch, 2 team deathmatch and then we also like to divide up into teams of two. The two partners have combined lives and kills, so we usually have at least 5 seperate teams of two running around this building. I cant imagine a better way to have an indoor war, tons of room to run around and shoot the more high powered guns.

I'm going to take some pics this friday and update the thread. So if any of you are nearby in FL feel free to come and get pelted.

Indoor wars with modded guns is just what the nerfer needs in the harsh times of winter.

EDIT: Just remembered this was in Florida! Your winters are the good times arent they?

Yeah usually, although it got down to about 35 degrees here over the past couple nights, and thats cold for us Floridians. Anyways, this is where I've been dumping hundreds of red darts, heheh.

See man, this is what I was talking about. You have just risen in the respect ranks about 100 fold. If you thought I was harsh in the beginning it's only b/c we get members on a regular basis talking about making diet coke and mentos guns or other garbage like that. Call it tough love or whatever, but you can also consider yourself a made man. Welcome to the family.

That being said, I most definitely have to come down to Florida for one of these wars. What is your closest airport?

Also, in case you haven't done your homework, most of our most active and "veteran" members are at least 18+, with myself at age 23. It's good to see fellow Nerfers in my own age bracket. It gets a little sketchy the farther the age difference gets. You are most definitely welcome to any NJ wars in the future. In fact I hope you can make it to Apocalypse this year. It is gearing up to be the biggest event EVER.

Well I suppose if you're really interested, St. Petersberg or Tampa International airports are the most likely to be affordable. The actual closest is Sarasota/Bradenton airport, just tends to be more expensive.

BTW one of our guys came up with a pretty creative way to upgrade the spring in a BBB. I'll have to get a few pics of it.

Well we had a pretty decent turn out tonight. 11 guys showed up and plenty of welts were received. We modded a few remaining guns for an hour or so and then played for about 3 1/2 hours. Hilarious, one guy took a close range shot from a very modded BBB right to the forehead. Huge raised welt, haha.

Anyways, good times. If you guys that are close by in FL will PM me your email addresses I will include you in the online invitations I send each week.

I would just like to say what an awesome sight it is to look at those pictures of a bunch of friends sitting around a table and modding their guns. It's a great way to introduce people to the hobby aspect of it all, and futhermore, I'm sure you get a great sense of pride when you help newcomers mod their guns. It's a fuckin' beautiful sight indeed. Kudos to you.

I'm glad your war went well, it sounds like fun times were had by all. Keep it up, and you'll have a nice sizeable group of people to mod and war with.

Again, like everyone else, it is a beautiful sight, a Mav, an NF, red foam, an AT3K, and a shitload of BBBs. When you can, get a picture on how to upgrade the spring. Too bad I live in Arizona.

Well we had another fun war tonight. Played for about 4 hours with several new creative rounds. We were missing several regulars and still had 10 guys so I thought we had a decent turnout.

We started off with some modding . . .

Then I thought I'd take some pics of the main open area of the building we war in. This is just the gym, we also use all the classrooms, hallways and upstairs.

We generally turn all the lights off with a couple well placed black lights, so this whole gym area just has a slight glow to it.

Not surprised that it's a CHURCH group that throws themselves into Nerfing. It's the best way to teach team dynamics that I ever found.

Of course it's also fun as heck.

hey guys just wanted to check in and let you know that I'm not dead or anything haha. These wars still happen on occasion in Sarasota. I now live in Ohio but am able to come back for visits and organize these with the local Nerf crowd there. I was just down for a month and we just had another war with about 15 in attendance. I'm coming back down for the holidays and plan to have a big one sometime around new years. I'd like to make this one bigger so if anyone is interested just reply here or PM for more details.

EDIT: Shooting for the weekend of Dec 26th-27th or Jan 2nd-3rd.

Holy shit, I completely missed this last year. Good luck in marsheling your troops for the holiday slaughter. Indoor venues are so hit or miss that when you find a good one you owe it to the sport to exploit it as often as possible.
