Dude, this poll is rediculously rigged. The best first person shooter isn't even on here, or at least my favorite. Ladies and gentlemen (mostly ladies), Jedi Knight is hands down the best there is, great story, great gameplay. Sure the graphics were not great, but really, as long as you can tell the enemy from a box, your ok. Go out and buy it, and be amazed.
But in the meantime, Halo wins this list.

Counter-Strike is based off the Half-Life engine, which is based off of a modified Quake 2 engine...being as it's a mod for Half-Life and all. Umm...isn't that sort of redundant?

I *might* be wrong but I beleive Half-Life is actually a heavily modified Quake engine.

I'd have to go with Americas Army. No other game has its graphics, gameplay, maps, weapons, and soon vehicles constantly updated for free by the original development staff.

I like Unreal Tournament for Xbox, the multiplayer in that game is stunning. Even though the single player gets old, the multiplayer is awesome. I also liked the first Timesplitters (not the 2nd one), that had good multiplayer. But for best single-player shooter, Halo gets my vote.
The girlfriends are for the boobies. The girls who are friends are for the... boobies.

Whatever happened to Metroid Prime? Best FPS if there ever was one. First off, stunning gameplay and graphics. Second, all the games in the Metroid series are awesome.
But I also like Halo on my friend's Xbox.
