Oh god.... THAT THING.

I saw a commercial for that... it looked like they were advertising a harpoon gun.

It MIGHT be moddable, but really, it's not designed to shoot far. If you took out everything unnecessary, integrating another gun inside might be an idea if you like the look of the shell. Other than that, I think you could, but it would be bulky and outmatched by your basic Nitefinder unless you really did a number on it.

Damn. I wish I didnt see that. I might just have to buy one of these now and see if I can mod it. It is a shame not one of my 12 gift cards will work for this thing. So far it looks like it has promise. The thing can launch 30 feet now. The distance of my stock shotgun was 15 feet and I got it to shoot beyond 160 with stefans. I beleive it is spring loaded but I cannot tell whether or not this thing has a plunger and plunger tube or just a platfrom that kind of catapults it out the barrel. I do like how the thing has a safety and how you would be able to store extra stefans in the handle.

Great find!

If someone owns one of these can they please shed some more light on it.

As Dart Attack hinted, who in the world would buy this? But the propulsion would most likely be a plunger system if it is spring powered, since the catapult system might have problems with the cord unravelling or following the hook properly.

Haha random thought, but what if you put a dart instead of the lure on the string? Dumb idea but all you would need is one dart. Bam got you! *reels in dart * Bam got you too! Seriously though thats a funny find nube. I think its over priced, but it looks like you can buy htem directly off the site.

It may look like a waste of time but, since the bobber opens on contact you could spring load it and then make it shoot more than one dart at a time.

TCIND, I was also scared at first glance. Forsaken Angel, you could probably mod the S*** out of that gun. Dart Attack, TX, and SHADOW HUNTER, it is really overpriced. Also TX, funny idea. And Crackerjack Man, nice thinking, an extra lure or quick reloaders would nerf wars even better. As of now, I'm lookin' for a XBow and will broke afterwards. Any owners, please try to mod, people would have more luck with shooting a stock Longshot with fishing line attached.

Messiah pig: Can you clean up your posts. When you are done that can you open it up and tell me how it works. Is it a plunger based system or does and expansion spring catapult it out of the barrel?

That's what we were getting at.

I would also like to know, although I won't be buying one so it really doesn't make a difference to me.

We're going to need a bit more than just a claim.

Since you've just received it for Christmas, a picture or three would be nice. That bobber is confusing.

I wouldn't be caught dead fishing with that in the ocean. Our fish would trash that thing on the first bite.

HHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHeeeee
The fact that anyone would consider showing their face in public with one of those is absurd.
And then they bring some shmuck on and say "master bass champion" WHAT THE HELL IS A MASTER BASS CHAMPION?
I have seen better ads from phony weightloss pharmacutical companies. That is telling you something!
I mean, don't get me wrong here, it is a neat ideaand all, but it isn't something that is going to catch on with the general fishing community. It is good for little kids fishing off their beaches and docks on lakes though.

(ok, i'll clean it up...) next time i go to my cabin, i'll grab it and tear it apart. and the thing with the bobber is i think
it stays shut during cast, until it hits the water, then opens up. i suck at fishing though, so i haven't gave it any other use than popping people in the head with the bobber shell taped shut.
that, and it sounds spring-loaded, prolly not a plunger.
http://www.buzzbeeto...2005/04660.html
is this moddable? even worthy of modding?

Dang, that thing is so gay, they had to get people from san francisco to do the video. (haha, gay idiots) Any way, if it is a plunger, it should be very easy to mod.

Really, there's no point in buying this. It's $40 for a gun that will be outrageously outperformed by your standard LongShot, which runs for $10 cheaper.

Mod it for the novelty of it, but don't expect anything.

I agree that it is a large waste of money, but how can you claim that this gun will be outperformed by a Longshot. If you haven't attempted modifying one of these, I wouldn't make any claims.

It looks like it has some power behind it, so you never know.

I also checked eBay for these...Costs even more.

Alright guys, back on topic; let's avoid any unnecessary confrontations.

If you watch the video, at one point it shows the projectile itself traveling down while priming (at least I think it was during priming). If that indeed is the case, then it's doubtful that it uses any sort of air pressure, but is simply like a catapult (as was said before), similar in function to the Vortex Tornado in that it doesn't use air pressure to launch the projectile.

I'd say the potential this thing has is low, unless someone wants to attempt to put a rubber washer on the end of the plunger in that thing and hope the interior of the barrel is circular and smooth.

I don't think so, it's just that it's launching what looks like a half pound bobber, if you completely removed the hook and line system (and if it uses air pressure) this may shoot pretty far with a barrel mod. If it's not air powered, forget it.

Why this topic was made I'm not sure, but why would you buy an expensive launching fishing pole with plans to mod it... its beyond me.

Watching the video, I'm virtually 100% certain that's direct spring power, not air. The thing isn't cheap, either... I really wouldn't suggest it. The chances of it working are too slim. If you had a chance to check it out, etc., then it might be worth considering, but as it stands you'd get it in the mail and be stuck with it if it couldn't work.

A cheaper Longshot would almost definitely outperform it.

Personally it's not that I don't think you could make something out of it. Its that I'm sure an lbb would top it in performance all around. If you really want to buy it, and as mater yogurt pointed out its almost pricey, I would use that huge spring in it as the base for an artillery gun that would shoot maybe 15 darts at once. but I'm not entirely sure how would get that to work.

Also if your “virtually 100% certain” of something then your 99% certain of it. (We have number for a reason)
