Hello again old friends. I am in need of a strong glue. Hot glue just won't do it any more. Gorilla glue I have reallu terrible results with. I have searched and came upon cxqw's favorite glue " JB weld" My question is where i can find this, or a more suitable glue. Thanks for the help in advance.

This is what I use. It's called plastic fusion. It's an epoxy based glue and it works really well with gluing barrels and such.

Hot glue is not really a good adhesive. That's probably why you are having trouble with it. Gorilla glue isn't meant for plastics. It's more of a wood glue

For plastics, NOTHING beats PVC cement.

I also use epoxy and plumber's goop for sealing barrels up.

For right now I'm not glueing Plastics. I'm glueing a piece of brass to a piece of copper.

JB weld is your #1 choice when comes to gluing metals. In some situations it can even outperform a soldered joint.

Call Sears, Lowes, Home Depot, Ace hardware, Autozone, etc.
Even if not listed on their site one of them will probably have it

I had almost forgotten about PVC cement. I have never had to use the stuff. Maybe this stuff will help me out for attaching a coupler to a crossbows plunger tube. I can not tell you the frustration I have had. I would epoxy it but that failed, then I plumbers gooped it but that then failed. So in an overkill kinda way I epoxied it,waited 48 hours then plumbers gooped the outside in very generous amounts, waited 48 hours then filled the lower half of the coupler with hot glue and then drilled a hole through it to the plunger tube. This worked well untill I had to adjust the barrel a bit and I heard a crack.

I have to adjust the barrel because the barrel is never straight. It is either to hgh or to low or to far right or left.
And beleive me I know how to put a coupler on straight.
I think the top of my crossbows plunger head is warped. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have had this problem with two Crossbow's. The plastic on the Crossbow is different and doesn't seem to stick to anything. I have tried everything. Maybe PVC Cement would work.

PVC cement is alot stonger than Epoxy.

I've never witnessed PVC cement failing. I guarantee that it doesn't break.

The shell of Nerf guns (and most toys pretty much) is typically made out of ABS plastic. Any glue formulated to work specifically with acrylic or polycarbonate will also work with ABS (but only pure blends, not ABS/PVC Kydex).
IPS Weld-On #3, #4, and several others work great if you are trying to solvent weld structural parts together.

Liquid nails works fairly well too under certain application types.

Alright well the results are in............. PVC cement is garbage! I did everything properly and the coupler came off easier than when it was being held on by hotglue. Looks like I have to find this weld on stuff. Any recomendations where I can find it Captain slug?

Nerf guns are mad of soft plastics. Nothing works perfectly on these plastics except for a very expensive adhesive that I forget what it is because it's 200$+ with the the applicator and such.

Nothing can beat zap a gap CA+ this is the best shit ever. It cures in like 5 seconds and it's stronger than the PVC that it is holding. http://zap.supergluecorp.com/pt04.html I use this ojn everything that needs to be held together forever.

Hey Forsaken, are you sanding the pieces with a low grit paper before glueing? I noticed it makes a bit of a difference when glueing other stuff. And what kind of hot glue are you using? I think I remember Carrtoon gluing his X-Bow coupler with a high temperature glue stick.

I just bought some of this. I'm going to try it on by X-box and see how it works. I'll let you know Forsaken.

My Super Glue, Hotglue and duct tape combo has never failed my x-bow. Me and my firends used just hot glue and duct tape for a while on our crossbows and we never shot off any couplers. Not sure what the deal is. On my next crossbow barrel, I'll be super gluing, plumbers gooping, then duct taping my next couplers on.

Only gun I've ever shot a coupler off was my TTG. Missing a piece so the plunger hits the coupler almost. Now it's super glued, hot glued, duct taped, and zip tied on. Hasn't broke yet.
