Ok so yesterday I want down to target to get my little brother his Christmas present. I am making him a double NightFinder. So I got two for him and one for myself. They are all the New ones with the Yellow, dark-grey, light-grey paint color schemes.

I de-packaged it. and I am pretty sure that they used a harder plastic, and thicker plastic. It is a little bit heavier. (Which I personally like :P )

I opened my own one up to mod it, and I saw the spring. It is crap. <_< It is the same spring that they use for the Firefly just shorter. ^_^
This is a size comparison picture:

The one on the right is the older (better) one that I had lying around.(it is from one of the previous grey-green NFs) The middle one is the spring from the new NF. And the one on the left is from a Firefly.

I am able to compress the new spring with two fingers. Something I am unable to do with the older one.

Well folks, this sucks if you ask me.

But there is some hope! the old spring can fit inside of the new spring!

So here's my analysis of the new NF:

Pros:
~Stronger plastic (more durable)
~It looks sexier than the last one.

Cons:
~Weaker spring

At the Target that I went to, they only had this edition of NFs. So my advice is for all you NF lovers is, Go drive/run/bike/fly(Piney)/hop/wheelchair/waddle/skip/hop/roll to your nearest Target/Walmart/TRU or whatever your nerf supplier is, and get asmany of the grey+green edition NFs as you can.

~This has been a consumer report with Elf_Avec_Gun. Tune in next time when we discuss whatever else Hasbro comes out with next.

PS: Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures, All of my future ones will be better cuz I am getting a digital camera (hand me down from my sister) for Christmas.

I know not what WWIII wil be fought with; however, WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones...

I am assuming that that is thinwall, So yes it will.
The diameter of the spring is roughly 3/4 in.

I confirm these findings. Bought one last night. The plunger tube also seems thicker. I really could care less about the spring though, cause I use some standard replacement springs for mine. Work like a charm.

Weaker spring! Not again...Everytime they revise a gun this happens. Why can't they stick with what works!

*runs to store to buy all of the old NFs*

Because, due to the air restrictors, having a strong spring is rather pointless for the unmodded gun.

Not to burst your guys' bubbles, but I had a spring from a green and grey NF lying around and it is exactly like the one in the middle of the picture... are you sure the one on the right isn't an old NF spring? Anyway, I think the spring in the NF's available to me are the same ones as the middle one, so it makes no difference to me.

POP*

What... thats kinda weird, well I guess that they started putting them into nightfinders before the current edition came out.

But I swear to God I have never had, held, nor owned an old edition nightfinder spring before. The night finder that it was from, I bought from wallmart in the beginning of the summer.

Yeah if you shoot it, the cocking handle kind of glides forward; it doesn't snap forward like the original one(s). I cut out a hole in the air restrictor/bolt stopper and slapped 3 rubber bands on there and now it shoots better than the original.

They aren't weapons. Don't call them weapons. They're only weapons if you make them so.

Umm... agent? I am confused as to what you are saying here. Can you explain?

Are you saying that you did this to the new NF? When you say "original", do you mean the Grey and Green, yellow and blue... or what?

The gliding thing is what happens when there are air restrictors. The air is getting let out slowly.

Yes I modded the yellow one and I was comparing it to the first gen NF; the blue and silver one.

That's kinda weird. Those rubber bands must be adding alot of force!
