Can someone please give me a step-by-step guide on simple mods; removing air restrictors, etc. With pictures possibly. Trust me I have searched and everything. I want a step-by-step guide with pictures! because every time I try to replace something or take something out, I always end up throwing it out. I need pictures because I'm the type of person that is very visual, or spacial. I want to take out the restrictors on my longbow, and possibly put in a new barrel with minimal cutting. So minimal cutting = minimal mistakes that cannot be undone...easily. I really don't want to chuck another gun out. I ended up chucking out my tech target gun earlier after trying to put my paintball gun's barrel on there and actually having the dart come out. IT WASN'T THE BARREL!! I know that because I could make it go through with a small puff of air from my mouth. If I put the barrel vertical, the dart slipped through it fairly easily. I'm hoping to put it on my crossbow now without fucking anything up this time. YOUR HELP WOULD BE GREATLY GREATLY GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Thank you for taking time to read this block of text.

They aren't weapons. Don't call them weapons. They're only weapons if you make them so.

Why don't you just take your time and read through the mods directory. They do have pictures! I cannot beleive you searched and could not find a single pic walk through of a AR removal. Search through some Nitefinder Write ups. I can guarantee you will find them there. Maybe you will want to attempt a nitefinder mod before breaking anything else. I will not search for you but I will open a door in the right direction.
An open door.
Step inside. Beyond this door lies the wonderful world of modifying nerf guns and some of its greatest creations.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Longbow?
Do you mean Longshot? Or Big Bad Bow? Or Crossbow? Or is it an actual Longbow?
If it's an actual Longbow, then your outta luck. I don't think anyone has done a write up on removing air restrictors on Longbows.

If it's a Longshot, then fortunatly for you, there's a pinned thread which has links to all sorts of Longshot mods.
Here.
And to take out the restrictor on a Longshot, you have to cut out the cylinder thing in the plunger tube.
If you don't understand that part, say so and I can get a picture of what I mean.

I know JUST what you are saying.
I am working on my first mod right now, and It involved a lot of searching and asking questions before I felt like I knew what I was getting into.

Frankly, the problem is that you really need to get involved in the community before you can even understand waht is being discussed... NF, BBB springs, air restrictors, pegs, all of these things are taken for granted, understood by us, but they're meaningless to strangers coming in. Average Jane, who just got her longshot and was disappointed at it's siping performance will come here. This is the best NERF modding community on the net. But there is no n00bs' guide. The closest thing to a guide or tutorial is a Forum post with 7 pages of responses. The information is there, but it's not easy to get to, and it's certainly not easy to print. Average Jane may think it's not worth trying. And wouldn't that be a shame?

I feel that it is my responsibility to document and create an photo injected modding guide for my Nightfire and Longshot.

We'll see how the LS (Longshot) mod goes tonight, and I'll work on the page next week.

The best thing to do is try. If you screw up you learn from it and wont make that mistake again. I suggest you just tinker around with you guns. I all ways keep a white porcilin bowl near me to put screws etc. in that way i dont lose anything. i also dont throw anything away, that tech target you tossed has some useful stuff you could reuse in future projects. So just explore and take risks i garentee it will pay. ;)

Yes I meant a crossbow. And I didn't toss it yet, it's pretty much rendered useless by itself. What can I do with the remaining parts? I think I have some NF parts too.
Edit: Ok I just ended up chucking my maverick agaainst the cement steps because I followed baghead's mod to the letter. I hot glued all around the edges, and it made it shoot even worse. Then I couldn't get the original poles back on, so I'm really pissed and about to quit modding because it seems like I can't mod any-fucking thing. I'm probably just going to keep everything stock, or just take things out that I can put things back in. But it seems like the Airtech 3000's and 4000's just suck completley, so now I only have 2 3000's and 1 4000, a Crossbow, and a POS Tech Target somewhere.
