If this has already been talked about, could a mod please close it? Thanks.
Anyways, I was walking through my local K-B in search of Lego sets(which they were almost clean out of) and whatever other toy deals I could find, feeling very awkward the whole time due to the fact I'm 16. So then, to my sureprise I spot a bunch of Double Shots, and was in awe for a bit, for ever since my (21 year old) brother broke mine, I'd been searching all over for a new one. Thus, I picked one up.
Upon getting home, I opened it, and immediately realized a few differences from my old one upon playing with it for a few minutes. The gun itself has a few changes, including what appears to be a stronger spring, and different colored little pieces, like the little tabs that hold the shells in when the gun is open. The big surprise, however, came in the shells. Unlike the ones that came with my old Double Shot, these have what seems to be a spring-loaded o-ring in the bottom of the shell that is pushed down when you push the dart in. It seems to create a great seal. Without a doubt, I'm going to have to go pick up at least one more of these, if only to ship one or two to Direct Threat to get painted. Has anyone else seen these new Double Shots near them, or these new Buzz Bee shells?

So wait, are you saying that it looks different on the outside, or just on the inside?
If it is dfferen on the outside, could you put up a pic.?

Perhaps this will clarify what he means about the shells:
Not only that, but the bastards also put a tiny hole in the little pole on which the plate rests.
It lets the air out into the bottom of the shell where it disperses and loses force so if there's no (stock) dart loaded it won't fire. This of course means you have to rip the shell apart and stick a new barrel in there to fire Stefans.
I noticed this when I took a closer look at my shells from my Double Shot, which I got in July or August.

What I did to fix these is just take a drill and drill those fuckers out until the drill was at the bottom and there was no leftover "pole". So it was just a hole in the back with nothing in it. Then I cut the top skinnyer off and put in CPVC. It pretty simple and I find it a little harder than the old ones.

That's it. I'm done. I'm sorry there are breasts on the Internet.

Actually if you just wiggle the post around for a bit the plastic breaks. But you still have to cut the tip off the shell of to fit in the cpvc.

I heard my name.
Anyways, can anyone clarify if it's just KB that carries these? I've been buying 2-3 a week at Walmart as its a good $5 cheaper, and I would be real curious to know if they'll have them any time soon.

I found several at Dollar General for $10. It looks and feels a lot studier than the old one. You can always drill out the air restrictor, a 1/4" drill bit will do for that, lerger will work better though.

I've been trying to modify my DS but have stopped because of those dumb shells. Those darn shells limit so much airflow with the hole in the post like NerfMonkey mentioned. You guys mentioned some great ideas I might try to the shells but to stay on topic there is a K-Mart by me that sells DS's and other BuzzBee guns like crazy for real cheap. I bought my DS for like 5 bucks and got a refill pack of darts and extra shells for like 2 bucks plus i got 10% discount on it all because of some toy department sale. A Walmart by me also is selling the DS for 10 bucks too.
In short the mod I'm doing is more an integration of an at2k into the ds but im having problems with the pump hosing and the triggering mechcanism. and those DARN SHELLS restrict all the air my lil at2k valve wants to shoot out.

Tricksleeves over at NHQ had this one down - he just hammered some PVC with CPVC inside it into where the springs would be, and cut down the barrels. Said it got half decent range. I'd search over there for some pics and a better explanation.
