I just bought 5 SSPB's and 3 of them are defective. Is that normal? Also, I can hear the best one of them leaking air while I pump it, but it does retain most of the air... is this just because of the overpressure release valve? If so, how do I access that?
Thanks,
Guilo
You'll have to end up cutting part of the gun.
Cutting part of it to allow the pump to be removed.

I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Thanks for all the responses, I have one last question: how do I keep the pump from comming out after I plug the OP valve?
Guilo
Uh oh, sounds like you blew the check valve to the air chamber. Now all this air is going to be escaping through the pump shaft. In other words its broken.

Edit: The gun shoots just fine, I just hear some air coming through the OP valve when I pump it. I still get normal ranges.

Or you could just tape it like I did.

Do you mean that when you pull out the pump, it will come out of the gun? If that's what you mean, just the 2 pieces you cut back together. Just make sure you don't get any glue inside the gun.
Or you could just tape it like I did.
Ok, thanks, thats what I meant, sorry Forsaken if my wording was confusing.

Personally I think SSPB's had great potential but all the ones I've had have broken or deteriorated over time. It's really too bad.

To test if it's an O-ring problem, put a little water in the pump shaft. This wets the o-ring, and if it helps your air leak, you know it's a dried o-ring.
And even though your getting 2 SFs and an AT3k, never give up on the NF. It's a trusty one that'll serve you. I think of it as the 'Old Faithful'. I can always fall back on it in a war.

As far as the SSPB goes, that's the only gun I've ever purchased to have a defect. It was likewise for everyone I Nerfed with too.

Ok, I guess I will get a NF then. I will try getting the o-ring wet, to see if that helps.

Edit: I got the o-ring wet, it helped range a lot. about 50' slightly angled, without the OP valve plugged.
