I have nearly completed Angel's magstrike mod and I noticed my gun had a leak between the barrel and the magazine. I fixed this by putting tape on the foam of the barrel and the magazine. This being air tight not only improved range, but now the magazine doesn't fall down every time you let go of the trigger. Has anyone done this before?

When you really think about it, this forum is still pretty darn tootin' good. It's like any family; we have a mix of brains, 'tards, jocks, geeks.

To answer your question:

No I dont think anyone has ever put tape on the foam of the barrel (I am assuming that by barrel you mean front of the plunger head) and the ?back? of the magazine.

What kind of tape did you use? Where on the magazine did you put the tape? Range testing with this new/better seel?

I know that you can put tape over the indents along the sides of the magazines to prevent them from falling back down instead. Also, it seemslike it would give you better ranges to hot glue another piece of craft foam on the front of the gun where the air is released.

I used scotch tape on the magazine, and electrical tape on the foam of the "Barrel" (or plunger head if you like it that way). I covered the part of the magazine where all the little holes are with the air restrictors with scotch tape, then cut around the holes to let the air pass through. Before I put on the tape, it was getting about 35 feet. Now its getting more like 45 feet. I was using nerf tagger darts, with no brass or custom barrel.
