So I had this Double Crossbow for the longest time. And I got around to modding it, but I used glue stick casings for barrels. And it sucked. Not to mention the barrels got messed up easily because I glued it wrong. Well, now I made this thing a whole lot better.

For this mod your gonna need:
2 5" pieces of 1/2" PVC
2 1/2" PVC couplers
2 5" pieces of whatever size brass you use (I used 19/32 brass because my darts are kind of fat)
If your brass isn't very restrictive then get 2 2"-3" pieces of 1 size down brass. (2 2" pieces of 9/16 for me)
Electrical Tape
Hot glue (With some extra hot glue sticks)
Something to cut brass and PVC (I used a saw and miter box)
Screwdriver
Double Crossbow
File
Dremel (You don't need the dremel, but it makes things easier.)

Ok, first, unscrew your gun. It's nice and basic. No hidden screws. Total of 5 screws.

Then take the barrel + plunger case piece. Cut the barrels off, and dremel it down until you have wider holes for air to pass through.

Now put that aside, it's finished for now. It's time to make your barrels. So heat up your hot glue gun, and wrap both of your 5" pieces of brass in E-tape so they will fit in the PVC. Now, if that brass isn't very restrictive, then nest your 2 smaller pieces of brass inside those. I had a little under a 1/2" of the nested brass sticking out theend of the barrel so the dart was closer to the air supply, but make sure it's not sticking out too far, or your barrel won't fit in the coupler.

Now, get your PVC and couplers, and nest your brass barrels inside the PVC. Put a tiny bit of hot glue to secure the brass in there. I put E-tape around the PVC barrels so it looked better.

Now you need that barrel + plunger case piece you cut earlier. Hot glue a coupler on each barrel stub. I added E-tape to hide the ugly hot glue. You could use Epoxy here, which would hold much better, so would Plumbers Goop, but I felt it didn't really need it. Then, screw your gun back together.

And now your done!

I don't have any official ranges yet, but both barrels can go across my hallway and hit the door about 20' away without any drop. I'll get ranges up probably on Friday.
I will probably make some shotgun barrels later, I don't have the supplies right now.

I don't know if I left anything out, but if I did tell me and I'll change it.

Pretty cool, but how does it cock, is there a trigger?

I'm not familiar with the double crossbow.

I do belive that you pull back the black handle part and you push it forward to fire a dart. I'm not too sure but I think that is how you fire it. BTW nice mod, I might need to pick one of these things up if I can find one.

I only ask because I'm thinking of trying these and it would suck if the balls got all covered with hairs after a while.

The only problem I forsee with this mod is that it's breech loading. I would suggest crayolas on such a type of gun, if they work with your types of darts, for faster reloading.

It's a push and pull gun. So you pull the black handle back, then push it forward, the faster you push it forward, the better ranges you get.

I'm not sure if they are still sold or not, I've had this gun for a really long time. I don't think I've seen any around, but I'm sure you could get one off Ebay or something.

Yes, having to breech load 2 barrels make reload time pretty high. I needed the breech load because I have nested brass in the back of the barrel, so ramroding it wouldn't work very well. I am also going to be using a shotgun barrel, so I can choose between which I like better.
My darts are too fat for Crayola barrels anyways. I'd have to use my CDTS's.
