cire36, now you're just being an idiot. Did I say anything about electronics as a whole? Why did you get the impression that I think computers "rot t3h m1nd!1!". You kinda ignored all my points and attempted to be clever, while in reality you just sounded like an irritated 2nd grader.

I wasn't bashing your idea at all, and I'm sorry you got that impression.

The point is, when you fire a couple shots here and there, and you forget how many, and then you see an area with a bunch of guys, so you think, "Hmmmm, how many darts do i have left?" so you take out your clip, see how many darts, and get ambushed. Thats what i think the point is. I think it is really cool.

I would get one just for the sake of getting one. The ammo counter in Aliens was just so badass, to have one on my LS would be awesome. Sure, it may not be functional, but i'm a form over function kind of guy anyways.
Besides, when I pre-load my LS clips the last round in each has blue painter's tape wrapped around the dart. Easy way to tell if i'm on my last shot or not.

I can easily see how one may lose count, especially with modified high capacity magazines. I think it would be very "cool" to have one upon your weapon if nothing else. I hope the poster is continues with the idea and is successful in his endeavor despite the negative posts here dissuading him from pursuing this. (Though being a fan of steampunk, I woudl probably use some sort of gauge or clock face to display the rounds  )

Yes, and what about people with high-capacity magazines? A double mag holds 13! If I got a longshot I would try to make a staggered magazine to hold nearly 20! Thats alot of numbers to keep up with in a war.

Can ANYONE on this forum count to 20?
