Were can i buy stronger nitefinder springs? The newer Nitefinders have weaker springs and i want something to give it a little more power.. .

Does anyone know?

I have 2 NF's that are brass barreled and have a spring replacement.
The spring dimensions are 7/8" x 4" x .080".
They require no cutting and with my NF's I am getting very good ranges. I don't know exact ranges, but I'm thinking angled gets at least 80'.
I found those springs at Home Depot and they come in packs of two.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I used those in my Nitefinders and they are perfect. If you can't find the exact ones at Home Depot, those dimensions are perfect. Anything over .080 gauge wire will be too hard to cock back the gun.

Wow. I was wondering about this myself. Luckily, I have an NF and a Longshot, both of which could use a new (or in the LS's case, another) spring. I haven't stuck in the new spring for Carrtoon's mod, so this post is a big help to me.

Be careful of the centruy springs that cartoon reccomended. They are pretty strong, and if you cut down the case for the nf, you will probably have some problems. One of mine broke. However, the one with a full case is doing fine.

And I must have misread his post. I didn't see any rcommended spring. Although, I gues that does explain a lot, considering he got 100'.

I get great ranges with a #49 spring at ACE. The springs at ACE are in a bunch of tiny plastic drawers on a wall with numbers on them. with CPVC, better o-rings, and that spring my NF is so powerful that my parents did not let me use it in a war. (think AT2k power)

I have had no trouble with a cut down case, but they have not been in there for long. the plunger tube screw holes are a bit stressed/stretched out, so I would reinforce it, though.

Those springs I had didn't work in my LS, they woudln't compress all the way, though they were extemely close. I think you'd have to cut them down a loop or two, and strengthen the catch spring, and reinforce the catch plate thing. That thing had a lot of force, and was really hard to cock.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I used those in my Nitefinders and they are perfect. If you can't find the exact ones at Home Depot, those dimensions are perfect. Anything over .080 gauge wire will be too hard to cock back the gun.

I too have had very good luck with these exact springs. The weird thing is, I have put the in a ton of different guns, including 3 nitefinders; 2 new style, 1 old style. THe old Style nite finder has stayed together for about 2 months without any problems. Both of the new style NFs have cracked between the plunger rod and the plunger head in a short amount of time. I have succesfully fixed one with a bigger screw and some glue, but it was a lot of trouble to have for 20 extra ft. of range. I suggest that you try banding the NF, so it is less likely the plunger head will break off, and reinforce it with some sheet metal.

Its prolly not a good idea to use really strong springs as they may break the gun's interals.

AT2K power is a bit much, more like BBB power, if you brass barrel it. That said I'd also go with the #49 spring. If the stock EX-3 spring is a 2 (in terms of strength), the old version NF spring is a 5, the #49 is about a 8. The Carrtoon Spring is a 10, but you have reliability issues to worry about. With the #49 you get more than enough power but don't have to worry about the gun breaking at all.

I just tried putting Tek 6 spring in NF.(which are really strong)

It shot a couple times in worked really good(50 feet Default Barrel).

But then the cocking handle fell out... crap...This NF was sortof broken anyway, One of the parts was glued I should try with a new one....
