Are there any non-obvious spots to dremel down, or did you just lengthen the track the charging rod travels on?
If there are other spots, could you possibly point them out? My charging rod bent, and straightening didn't work too well.

IIRC correctly there were 3 spots total, the slot where the rod goes through and a couple inside. I can't remember exactly where they were, it took some experimenting to figure it out. I believe they were on the right side of the gun. That rod is really easy to replace, it should be easy to find something at a hardware store that'll work.

PETG doesn't make sense as a breech/bolt material. It is WAY too brittle.

It shatters.

Huh? Polyester is pretty flexible stuff. It's more like wax or cheese than plastic.
I've never had it shatter, but I have split or deformed it.

For A nitefire I did, it shattered into 6 or 7 pieces.

For LS, I have had it split pretty bad. Now, if you pad the plungerhead, this is greatly reduced.

Well I plan on doing angels mod but I was wondering how long I have to cut the brass and the bolt. And yes I did read the whole thread but I think Angel uses smaller stefans than me. I use 2" stefans.

Ok I'm not going to do an angel longshot. So a few more questions. How would I add a brass barrel without a breech? Does anyone have a full or cut ar-15 spring that they would sell me? What parts of the gun should be reinforced and with what?

You wouldn't add a brass barrel without a breech cut and still be able to use magazines... making the longshot single-shot and a pain to load. You wouldn't want to do that.

But if, for some strange reason, you *did* want to do that... the orange piece of plastic that grabs darts out of the magazines needs a length of brass jammed down into it, then secured somehow. You'd have to muzzle-load and possibly ramrod the LS, though.

Can you not order things online? You can buy an AR15 spring for $4 here (it's the one I used for my LS) if you can.

Once you add shipping and tax its $10. And how come you can add a petg barrel but not a brass one?

You can, don't listen to gengar. Just follow my mod, here:

http://nerfhaven.com...34

and replace the petg with brass. You'll have to either cut out a hole in the brass for the dart stopper, or cut out the dart stopper so your bolt just shoves the dart way into the barrel (if you do it this way, you should put craft foam around the bolt or part of a mousepad to improve the seal and keep the dart from falling back down into the bolt).

I think gengar was thinking you wanted to add a brass barrel directly onto the plunger tube.

I've got two questions, 1. What is the width at the back of the gun, right behind the plunger? 2. How well does the orange sliding piece, seal with the plunger-tube? I'm talking about the moving part of the barrel.

1. The shell is 1-15/16" (1.975") wide at the rear when the stock is removed.
2. If you're referring to the bolt, It has an o-ring that seals it against the inside face of the front of the plunger chamber when it's in the forward position. The seal between the bolt face and the receiver on the otherhand is almost nonexistent.

Thanks for replying CS. I think that I understand what you are talking about, but I am referring to the bolts seal withing the plunger tube, while it slides. Basically, I'm asking if it could it be used as a piston within the plunger tube.

ps. If you can remember a topic about a blow-forward semi-auto homemade that was posted a couple days ago by some Dutch guy, I am thinking about using that concept with the longshot. http://www.spudfiles...ag-t10075.html- You could probably see where I'm going with this.... (That link is the one that was posted in the topic.)

EDIT- Fixed the link.

It doesn't effectively seal (in an air-tight manner) while sliding, either around the bolt or around the inside diameter of the plunger tube. If it did there would be considerable resistance.
Whatever seal that's there is due to part tolerances and wouldn't hold any pressure.

I'm sure I can find a way to fix that. A rubber disc and some lubricant maybe....

The longshot's bolt& plunger tube is almost a pre-made blow-forward valve. I intend to be the first one to try this, so no stealing my idea bitches.

As there is not copyright/other "officialness" to protect it, and it's publicly displayed, everybody feel free to use these ideas.

Honestly, what are you going to do if I get a working prototype before you?

That's right. Nothing.

EDIT: I stand corrected.

The plunger is removed by unscrewing the plate at the back of the plunger tube on the bolt sled and pulling the assembly out. If you want to separate the plunger tube from the bolt sled, you can't do it through anything short of sawing the two apart near the silver pin towards the bolt face.

Sorry, SHA, but I have to call that to be completely wrong. I was able to take a (very small) flat-head screwdriver and just push the pin out.

So, yeah, try to push the pin out...unless Hasbro started gluing the pin in or something stupid.

No disrespect meant, SHA.

When I put my new LS back together, the arm that goes into the chamber that loads the dart keeps getting stuck on it. Any advice anyone on what I did wrong?

ok now I have a new problem. Sorry for being such a n00b but I got validated yesterday. I cannot load my clip because it is getting caught on the bolt. When I cock it fully I can still see the bolt in the jam window. I think I have re installed my plunger chamber wrong but im not really sure. I pmed CS to see if he could help but no reply yet.
Thanks for reading my nooby posts.

I dont think it's my catch plate that broke, but when I add any stronger spring it shoots on itself. I lost my original catch spring so I used some random one from somewhere but it doesn't seem as strong. Where do you get the springs that are strong enough to hold a LS/BBB spring?

And in FA's LS mod, did he use 9/16 brass for the barrel because that's what fits his darts, or so the darts go in the breech easier.
