So that I don't have to answer this so frequently.

When a stronger spring is added to the plunger the bolt sits slightly further forward when the plunger is primed. The solution is to trim the rear lip on the magazine so that it is clear of the bolt. Like the left one pictured here.

Bumpin' FYI;

Added bpso86's PETG/ stock breech mod.

Added Fenixharth's LS Carbine mod.

Good job, both of ya's. I hope everyone checks this thread first when modding LS's.

Thanks Piney!

Good to see some more LS mods coming out still. I have another one in the back of my head, that I might try soon. It will be a little more daring though.

Does a replacement breech need a guide to hold the dart like FA24's or will it work just as well without the piece to guide the dart?

It CAN work just that you will have feeding problems. I'm tring to make a breech like FA's, just with PETG

Is there any functional or structural reason people haven't done an internal shotgun handle, or is it just that noone has tried it?

You could use whatever handle you wanted interfacing with that mechanism with a pin through the hole in the slot you'd have to cut, like the stock one on the maverick or the front gun.

Huh, thats an quite a nifty idea there, if it worked it would look amazingly clean. But it depends what materials you are using, I wouldn't trust those two skinny beams if that were plastic, but that can be changed. I just looked in my longshot to check it out, and, it looks like it would work fine. You could eve have the space between thost two beams filled, and remove the bottom part of the dart tooth so it fits.

Funny you say so, I actually have some vertical supports to run the whole length of the slides modeled to epoxy on to the bottom of that, but I didn't include them so you could see the arrangement better. The block is designed to be several thicknesses of acrylic epoxied together, incidently.

Put your breech through your clip when you glue it in place

Is there any other material I can use for the new barrel? I can't get my hands on Brass. Would any PVC or CPVC work for the barrel? and if so what size?

1/2 inch CPVC = No chance. Its way too tight. Any bigger is too loose.

1/2 inch PVC might work. It tends to be loose enough.

No. PETG or brass (17/32" O.D. brass). Since you can't get the latter, contact OMC for some PETG tubing, although I have yet to see a breach made out of it.

I could have sworn somebody did an internal Longshot shotgun cocking handle.

Someone did FA, and someone made a PETG breach with brass too, and I'm in the process too, except mine's only PETG.

PETG doesn't make sense as a breech/bolt material. It is WAY too brittle.

It shatters.

As a barrel with a modified stock breech, it works out well.

I can do a writeup over it need be, but it isn't that difficult.

Huh? Polyester is pretty flexible stuff. It's more like wax or cheese than plastic.
I've never had it shatter, but I have split or deformed it.

Yeah, thats all that happened to my OMC PETG stock.

The Other brand I tried broke so easy. Bent and cracked if you dropped it. (Slight eggageration).

And CS,
Have you had any problems with the LS bolt sliding forward, or firing after cocking? Mine misfires and shoots itself.

You need a stronger trigger plate spring.

Another possibility is that the bolt isn't quite going back far enough to fully catch, due to different springs or moving the bolt nub. I found you can fudge that and make the bolt travel a bit farther by dremelling a few spots down on the case.

Are there any non-obvious spots to dremel down, or did you just lengthen the track the charging rod travels on?
If there are other spots, could you possibly point them out? My charging rod bent, and straightening didn't work too well.
