I'm going to make my mav single barrel. why? because to me the mav looks like a desert eagle.
I just wanna kno if I could but a c02 (about 15?gram its a tire inflater c02 cartridge0 and stick it on my gun and give it more umph.)
Anyone have any ideas on sticking it on?

No... just... No.
1. The whole point of a maverick is ROF. Single barreling it takes away that ROF.
2. Looks like a desert eagle? I think nerf is the wrong sport for you...
3. Co2 giving it "More oomf"? Do you even know how a maverick works? There is no valve, there is just a spring pushing a plunger.
4. Co2 is too powerful unregulated for a nerf gun.

I understand where you are coming from.
but the point is I wanna mod the gun thats all. I mean I have about 5 more mav's on the floor, well 4.
I just wanna see if the co2 would be cool..If not I'll just used a pump.yes I love the 6 round rev. Its a great idea. I just want to see wat I can do for myself to make me happy.
I think most modders will see that. I hope

Thanks for the input by the way.

oh and yes I do know how the mav works.
I didnt give you detailed info on wat I was going to do..
I just need some time to get my marterials together and do this.

Just to answer the valve question i was gonna use one from a water gun.

Well, yeah, clearly the Co2 is going to be quite the challenge, especially since the gun isn't naturally suited to it. Unless you have prior experience with it I'd anticipate becoming enormously frustrated and throwing your Mav out the window.
Where the aesthetics are concerned, I can relate. The Mav is pretty good looking, especially the back end. If you rebarrel it and look into a stronger spring (but that's pretty tricky with the sort of plunger and chamber the Mav has) then you might have something that would satisfy most of your criteria.
Good luck man. I think the real trick of this will be cutting off half the gun and making it still look good and clean.

P.S. No offense to z80, but I'd suggest you ignore what the point of your guns are. Do as you please. That's where the real creativity comes from.

I think z80 was right. The fact i didnt give him some detail on what I gonin to do.I pretty much dont blame him.
And the cut of the cut will be very difficult. It's been going on throw my head over and over how I am going to do it. I think I cut the bottom where is say "mav. rev. 6" ont he very far edge near the trigger. Then use epoxy scuplt to make it look clean.

This isnt gonna be easy. But if done it would be a KICK-ASS of a gun.
no?

I'd anticipate becoming enormously frustrated and throwing your Mav out the window.

Ha thats the reason I have more then 1 =]

Okay, son, here we go.

1) Start by spell-checking your posts. It doesn't appear you've read NerfHaven's Code of Conduct when you got your validation e-mail. It's very important that you type your posts legibly. No need to rush. Yes, we're picky. Yes, if you don't like it, I can recommend a site that's not too critical about spelling.

2) Have you worked with CO2 before, either in paintball or spud guns? A 12 gram CO2 cartridge (typical for PB markers) can fill a 3" x 14" SCH40 PVC chamber to 90 psi. Air powered Nerf blasters operate around 5-10 psi pressure.

In order to contain all that pressure in such a confined space as on a Mav, you'd need to borrow something from the BB and pellet gun world. I have two air pistols (Powerline 622, .22 cal Beretta M9 replica, and Crosman AutoAir II BB pistol), and both utilize the 12 gram cartridge as the storage unit, and regulate the CO2 through a high-pressure push valve.

If you utilize the bike tire inflator as the source (I'm assuming it's a lever-actuated inflator), you'd have to be really careful about dispensing CO2 into a supersoaker air tank (tubing) and valve. One lazy finger and "POP"!

3) About appearances, hey, that's your initiative if you want it to look like a Desert Eagle, but it's going to take some work to make a revolver resemble a flat-sided semi. Even after removing the cylinder, you've got those bulges to hack off on either side of the frame (above and behind the trigger). Let's see some progress shots of it.

You know, with digital cameras costing under 20 bucks, and so many of you young ones buying all kinds of other things, it behooves you to post some pictures up to make these projects more tangible to our readers. Most of NH prefers substance over mere ideas.

Good luck on the project. My opinion, NO to CO2, Everything else I'll be waiting to see.

I am used to not caring about how I type, but ill make sure to check myself.
As soon as I get my digi. camera up, I'll post the picture of the cut off half cylnder.
The only thing i'm scared of with working with C02 is it blowing up the gun. That wouldn't be pretty. But if I fail with the CO2 idea, I'll stick with an air pump or something in that area.

Thanks for the help.

The way I see it, co2 is not even remotley possible to integrate into the maverick. So good luck with wasting money!

This contest may have some flaws, as people can simply be a deuschbag over the internet. By Lying.

A war-like setting/invitational would be better...

well, I would say he has his work cut out for him and I too would say you're beter doing something else on your own before this. As piney explaines, CO2 is likely more dangerous a thing than you want to be messing with. this gun is plunger-based and doesn't even have a valve so as so many others have expressed you will have to totally re-build the gun. There's hardly anything you can use for an air gun.

On another note, your comment about making it single-barreled seems to go against the whole 6-barrel rotating-reload system so you should understand that in your first post, you are too vague and provide hardly enough specifics to have anything worth responding to, Furthermore it seems that you're taking a perfectly fine gun, taking out all of its useful features, and replacing them with a mechanism which hasn't been actively researched... UNTIL THE NEW THREAD BY yamo1231...for previously stated reasons... and then you're asking for advice on how you could do this. Talk to yamo1231, perhaps he'll do a writeup and that will help you.
advice? See if you can't undo whatever you've done so far and go dis-assemble a friend's paintball marker to understand its workings. CO2 CAN be regulated but it requires a stronger valve, an expensive regulator, a stronger gun, and the price of such an air system will likely exceed its worth.
good luck,
-co

Personaly, I think you should go for it. I think it would take alot of work and creativity, there for enhansing your modding potential. I wouldn't really use CO2 in one of my guns becasue I think that Ruins the hole point of nerf and manualy primeing your guns. Good luck and I hope for the best of it. Looking forward to seeing this.

advice?

Advice is a good word. thanks.

But I don't want a write up. I want to do it on my own. Tinker with it. First to have it kinda deal.
Okay maybe not the first, but you get the idea.
^ contradicted myself, Because I did ask for help in my first post. I do apologize.

Give me a few weeks. I have my PSAT this saturday. I have a very ill family memeber in colombia. School, 10 hour work shift, plus homework. Busy time for a 16 year old.

I knew one day someone would try this. A month or so ago I had drawn up a whole schematic of this. I was on the verge of making this work when I realized that this would cost about 30 dollars to mod a 9 dollar gun <_< So I basically dumped the idea.

Hey man anything is possible. Try it and if it doesnt work then keep trying. Eventually you will figure something out. Remember creativity is a crutial part of modding.

If you did get the whole C02 to work then I do not reccomend the singleing of the MAV. But go ahead and try it.

This may possibly be the first mav to hit 100'.

Haha
Well if you think about it.
I could throw the mav 100' and break the record. :P
I'm sure other got more then that. Depending on how fed up they were with the gun.
I was having seconds thoughts of doing this CO2. untill I saw the one video just now.
I hope everyone has a goodnight/morning/afternoon. =] Have school in the morning. =[
