Well last year we had a college football thread so I didn't see the harm in another one. It's basically for a weeks updates as to who in the top 25 wins or loses. As for the national championship, Ohio state is definitely there. As for the other team it's anyones game. Theres still lots of games ahead of all the top 5 teams to lose.

GO LONGHORNS! :D

Virginia Tech!!! Even though they lost last week, they still have a shot at the Orange Bowl.

Virginia Tech!!! Even though they lost last week, they still have a shot at the Orange Bowl.

Virginia Tech needs to win out the rest of the season and Georgia Tech needs to lose two conference games before that happens. Since we are in the same division, GT needs to lose two games, because with one loss they would still win the coastal division on the tie breaker. Maryland almost beat them, but almost doesn't really help us. Plus, Virginia Tech's record will be inflated this year because our schedule is weak (ie. the first four games, etc), but I'll have more on this later. Virginia Tech at best will make a BCS bowl.

Florida is doing really well in by far the toughest conference in college football. I dare someone to prove me otherwise that the SEC isn't the hardest conference almost every year. I expect them to do very well this season. Florida should make the national title game.

West Virginia should win out with its schedule, but they are playing nobody. Yes, they are playing Lousiville, but if you have only one tough game out of 12 that doesn't say much. The temporary hiatus of the VT/WVU rivalry hurts both team's strength of schedule. WVU will make a BCS bowl.

I had faith in Notre Dame in the preseason, but I am not liking their odds. I don't feel that they are national championship worthy, but since they are the Irish I expect them to make a BCS bowl.

The jury is still out on Ohio State and USC for me. I know that they are both undefeated and highly ranked in the polls, but both teams lost a lot of starters from last year. I am aware that both these schools recruit highly talented players every year, but experience speaks volumes in college football. I would like to see USC go down and Cal to snatch the Pac 10 title; just for a change. I expect Ohio State to make a BCS bowl.

Who are my other picks? Who is my other pick for the national title game? I feel this season is still wide open. There are no real powerhouse teams that every one can agree upon. I like that though. I don't want the teams going to the national title game decided in October or November. What's the fun in that?

I'm not saying the big 12 is harder, but it has 4 teams who aren't bad and ranked in the top 25. Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Missouri.

Definately rooting for the Cougers. Especially since I'm not only security at their home games, but also living on campus. Apparently this year we've got a much better shot after not getting all out dominated by SoCal (Like every other team that plays SoCal).

And as a side note, if you look very carefully at Seattle on Google earth, in the football stadium there is a Cougers logo on the field (And presumably Couger players too, but they're really tiny, the shot is from space).

I feel its time for an update as there were some updates and scares. Michigan and USC hold on to win. Florida loses to auburn. Geogria, missouri, and Virginia tech. Adrian peterson is out for the rest of the regular season due to a collarbone injury. The national championship is anyone's game. The top 5 still have alot of tough games ahead and they're conference championship games will be no easy task either.
