I finally got my 2nd longshot today so I decieded to open and I have a bbb spring sittin around so I thought I would replace the spring but if I just put the bbb spring in will the cause the gun to misfire, not fully cock? Would I have to put and extra o-ring on the plunger head with just the bbb spring? Could I get away without having to do anything with the plunger head?

I only ask because I'm thinking of trying these and it would suck if the balls got all covered with hairs after a while.

I think people have been cutting off three or so loops of the BBB spring, but I'm not completely sure. To my knowledge, the only people who have had misfiring problems have has them because they've added too strong a spring. A trimmed BBB spring is not too powerful. And adding O-rings doesn't have anything to do with the cocking mechanism, it just gives a better seal, so you probably don't need to mess around with the plunger head.

For maximum efficiency?

1. Pump up. Count how many pumps.

2. Keep going until you hear a loud "bang".

3. Subtract one pump from the total. Rebuild your air bladder.

There you go.
