I was wondering, do sprinkler valves have places where you could hook up co2 adapters or something like that? If so, is there a link? Thanks

I bet you could just use a bunch of couplers and a lot of pvc cement and convert one to C02

Also, I don't really understand sprinkler valves. I know they are electric, but how do you open and close it-is there a button?? Can you regulate the time of openeing and closing? Please someone explain how they work!

Some solinoid do have threaded ends so mabey. If you want a good answer to this question ask it on a air cannon or paintball fourm.

No, a paintball CO2 tank will NOT screw into the threaded sections of a sprinkler valve. And even if they were the same threads, the CO2 tank needs a little nub to depress the pin. You COULD use a plethora of couplers down to 1/8NPT, and then get a paintball ASA and thread it together, but the pressure out of a CO2 tank is anywhere from 600PSI to 1200PSI depending on conditions. So, unless you have a regulator, don't do it unless you want to lose a limb from the PVC shrapnelizing. Good luck though.

I think if you really wanted to learn about sprinkler valves, you're better to go to one of the major spud gun forums to get information.

My favorite is spudfiles.com...that has just about everything you need, and even things you don't.

This is the best sprinkler mod I've seen in awhile. And no drilling! That in and of itself should be enough for you to start with. In fact, most of us who are interested in spudgun theory to Nerf should visit spudfiles.com. But don't you go and be an ass there.

And like Michael said...you don't want to be messin with CO2, especially since you know very little on spudgun and sprinkler valve theory. It's possible to use 12 gram CO2 cartridges to fill a homemade tank, but you need to know the exact dimensions and volume, because that little silver capsule will fill a 12" x 3" PVC air chamber to 100 psi in a heartbeat. If you don't know what you're doing, that thing could become a plastic pipe bomb.

Stick with homemade tanks and air compressors or foot pumps.

If you don't have a solenoid control valve yet...wait until you've perused the website and found some ideas and brand names to buy. I use Hunter brand products, only because I use them also in my work, and spare parts and used bodies and such are readily available (Hunter products are very expensive, so you won't see too many spudders using them.)

Even if you did find a way to attach a Co2 tank to it. Most valves are rated only up to 125-140 psi. You'll blow it up in an instant. Plus Co2 makes PVC brittle because of it's extreme coldness.

Oh, throw that damn solenoid away. Modding it opens it a hell of a lot faster than the solenoid. If you mod it, you'll be happy you did. Jist ask DavidBowie about it.
