First and foremost this may only be in Canada as I have no idea if there are TSC stores in the US.

Anyways, in the TSC flyer I noticed them carrying a product which replaces an air compressor for air tools by using a regulator attached to refillable C02 cylinders.
[There is a small picture on page 18 of the online flyer]

Additional info..
And More..
This means that for $100 Canadian you can have an air system which uses fittings found at any hardware store. I intend to pick one up for an upcoming build. I'll post pics and a review when I justify the purchase (saving for a new car and a new racing bike).

If anyone has either noticed this to purchased one let me know!

Thats a really cool idea. Many have suggested this but you actually have a specific item to use. Ive always wanted to do something like this but havent had time, money, or care.

I have a few questions and suggestions, what are you going to hook it up to, a homeade gun or an actuall nerf gun? I think you should hook it up to a homeade one, using a sprinkler valve system to release to air and a pvc body. If you have good pvc skills, you could really make a nice hand gun or fully auto gun! Good luck!

I would hook it up to my reaper, however I'm keeping with the evolution of my obsessive attitude towards an ultimate nerfgun. Following the lines of Ompa and Boltsniper I'm going to be building a shell-less rifle which will utilize a direct-acting solenoid valve to control a regulated amount of C02 into a SCH40 Chamber.

I'll make a topic about the gun when I actually get the time to sit down and design it and start building. I just thought I'd bring this innovation to everyones attention because most everyone wants to build a C02 powered gun at one time or another.

Wow, that is a much cheaper alternative to rigging up paintball regs and such. If I didn't already have my regs from playing paintball, i'd look into this. Good post!

Do you mean that you would have a plunger-powered setup, with CO2 used to drive the plunger into the cocked position? Or by 'Folloiwng the lines of Ompa and Boltsniper' did you simply mean a shell-less rifle?

Because what I first suggested sounds over-complicated. Cool, but over-complicated.

It gave the site a sort of 'homy' feeling.

Did you know that "m" can sometimes look like "rn" when read quickly?

Yeah, you won't need a solenoid in order to make an air-powered breeched nerf gun. If you want feel free to use the valve configuration I designed for my ABP (which I will no longer be able to get around to making).

You really don't need to buy that $100 kit. All you need is a tank of some kind and an adjustable regulator (anywhere from $5 to $50 depending on the max PSI rating). With a nice large PVC tank at 150 PSI with a $6 regulator to step down to 10psi to power your gun you can have a very sustainable supply of air at very little cost.

Or you can buy a decent scuba or HPA tank for around $80
Any tank will have to be refilled one way or another. And if you go with something that's at such a higher tank pressure you won't be able to fill it yourself unless you have a compressor.

Instead of making ABP I've decided to simply convert a magstrike into the same thing. I will be replacing the stock tank with a thicker walled 150psi tank then regulate that with a cheap airbrush regulator I got on eBay. Then I can fill the tank with a bike pump or a motorized pump.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

I think there has been some confusion as to my current designing process for my Reaper Mk.3.

I intend to build a rifle that will pump actuate a brass breech/magazine. I however was refering to the air system which I would like to impliment. I want to use a 3 way valve and a chamber of Sch40 which in the configuration The gas would enter through the 3 way valve into the chamber, upon energizing the valve, it would exhaust the chamber into the barrel. I may use the regulator I have from my reaper mk.2. I do not want full auto or even semi-auto. I build things to be funtional and rugged and semi or full auto will be unreliable at best.

I hope this clarifies my intent, however this thread was simply to show a new product that replaces the need to rely on paintball regulators/fitting etc.
