Hello all. I have lurked in this forum for quite some time now. I am heavily into paintball, and have spent around a couple thousand dollars in gear. I live in Canada, BC, Vancouver Island. No Nerf wars in my area that I am aware of.

My friend introduced me to Nerf a little while ago, sent me links to Boltsnipers gun's, other modded guns, ect, and I went out and bought a BBB, modified it to shoot megas by cutting out the AR's, sanding the barrel a little for a smoother travel of my 5/8th's FBR. Shoots roughly 40'. I would love to use 1/2" FBR, but no hardware stores around here seem to have it. (Maybe I'll put up a WTB thread later)
Dug out my old LNL, put some rubber bands on it, removed the hideous yellow thing, put a cut up piece of a shampoo bottle in the barrel to make a good seal, and it shoots as far as the BBB. Also bought a Mech 6 to toy around with. The semi auto-ness got me thinking.
As I said before, I play paintball, and have always had a fascination for pneumatics, so I got thinking how I could make a pneumatic, CO2 or HPA powered gun, mag fed, and maybe even bullpup style if my imagination permits it. I have full intentions of building this "gun".

I know most people get shot down for only posting ideas drawn in paint, but I have seen what this community can do for ideas, and how it can help someone build a better Nerf gun, and that is why I am posting my idea. So here it is.

It is essentially an Automag (for any Paintballers out there.)Operation of an Automag
It would most likely utilize a magazine, and I have been toying with the idea of a Drum mag while reading past posts on this forum. It shall also use Zero's semi auto valve which was found on this site. I have all the LPR's and tanks, and ram's and PVC lying around, so this shouldn't cost me too much. Also, what would be a good barrel size to use for the 5/8th's mega Stephans? I am welcoming questions, criticism, opinions, and help on this project. Thanks for looking, and hopefully I will become an avid member of this forum.

Carpe Diem,
Michael S.

Welcome to the Haven! First off 1/2 in PVC is great for Megas. It also fits stock micro darts. I would also be very happy to sell you some 1/2 inch FBR. I like your idea, but I cannot understand it? Where is the barrell? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the warm welcome. I have 1/2" PVC, but it is too big for thr 5/8th's. I also have some 1/2" Conduit PVC piping (the gray stuff) but it's just a smidge too tight. Also, changed the pic a bit, sorry about that, I drew it up around 12:30am.

Make sure that your PVC isn't CPVC. That could be your problem. I am sure some other people could do this for you, but if you are having a real problem I could send ya some for free. If you really need some PM me.

The design in a combination of an Autococker and an Automag.
It should work required you get it all calibrated correctly.
What would you use for the 3-way and the ram? I've had this problem myself. I thought of just making one with some aluminium pipe and stuff.

Good luck!

I will be using an auto cocker's 3way and ram.^_^ Just gotta figure out how to get the threeway to move to the right spot everytime. I'm starting work on the Zero valve as I am typing this.

Couldn't you take an automag's triggervalve out instead of making one?

That's just my opinion,tough. ^_^

And by the way, welcome to nerfhaven.

When you really think about it, this forum is still pretty darn tootin' good. It's like any family; we have a mix of brains, 'tards, jocks, geeks, hos, burners, waistoids, dickheads.

Three problems. The first, BOTH of my mags don't work, and two, the bolt doesn't move enough to allow for anything over .7" to fall or be pushed into the breach, and three, the size of the bolt is roughly .7" in diameter where as a mega stephan, which I have access to, is only .625" thus massive blow by causing the dart to go almost no where. I could rebarrel it, ect to fit the darts, but again, the bolt only moves so far, and a new valve is upwards of 200 USD. If I did get a new 'mag valve, I'd much rather put it in one of my non-working guns. Thanks for trying to make life easier for me.
Small progress update, got the valve all done, just waiting for goop to dry.

The first thing this reminded me of was an autococker. <3

I'm looking forward to a practical adaptation of this concept.

UPDATE! Finally got the -202 O-rings that the zero valve calls for today. So I glued the whole thing up, and Iím letting it dry over night. Gonna drill it for an input air tomorrow, thread the piece in. then Iím gonna start on the grip which will be an old auto cocker hinge frame. Got some aluminum I can bolt it together with. I'll get some pics of it all on Saturday. I'm still open to suggestions of what I could do about the bolt.. I don't really like the mag styled bolt idea.. Too complicated. If I could find some barbed T fittings, I could have the trigger do both the bolt and the firing system... Also, I found some aluminum seamless pipe at my mother's workplace, fits my 5/8" FBR perfectly. I can blow a dart 50' out of it. Also, I found some 1/2" FBR at Crappy Tire. Regardless of my hurdles, progress has been made!

Another Update.

The Zero valve didn't work. Leaks, could be the piping I have on hand. So, I'm just gonna gut an AT3k for it's valve, hook that upto a pressurized gas either Air or CO2, and have the auto cocker ram and what ever cycling the bolt. That'll make things alot easier. Might even put the whole thing inside my longshot.

I don't think a plastic air tank will work with CO2 or compressed air.(it might explode) You could probably use a regulator.???

Here is a mod for a brass eagle paintball gun to fire nerf darts: Yakman's paintball mod

I also play paintball and nerf. I have a tippmann 98 custom

I have an autococker with a raceframe, MQ valve, misc upgrades. and like 8 other paintball guns.. I will of course be using a lowpressure reg to turn down the pressure of the HPa or CO2. Anyone know what kind of pressure an AT3K valve works good at?

I'd say 30 psi, maybe 40. Anything higher and it will blow for sure.

The AT3k trigger valve works as a dump valve. What you need is a two-state valve that will block off your regulated supply while releasing your firing tank.
Something like the trigger valve drawing in this image.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?
